I know you repeat yourself in making each video, on many a pinball tip; such as you did in this video, with contact movement in make & break contacts. And this is greatly appreciated! Sometimes a new viewer just hap's upon one of your videos and helps them. It also reminds us long time viewers of those simple, but necessary steps. Thanks for your continual reminders!

That system is amazing for the era. Having a game auto adjust difficulty is something programmers still struggle with. I see why you call it rigged, but in the light of keeping your repair/profit ratio in check, this is amazing.

That Thumper Button control circuit is similar to the "Reflex Circuit" in Bally Bingo games. On those, it got looser the more you played credits (these were multicredit games. At a nickel per credit, you might spend $3 or $4 dollars trying to turn certain features on). When you won free credits, it tightened up. If you played the credits back in, it would loosen back up. But if you cashed out, the game would remove the credits and leave the game in a tight setting.

since the lights still cycle the player probably wouldn’t even notice that the odd are being stacked. As always a great video thanks

hello joe ? . I used to have one of these in the early 80s. I only paid ten pounds (those were the days) It was broke , But after a little cleaning it came back to life . really clever machine . very fast play because of the double thumper bumpers . the way the use score the pumpkins that you lite bally and then hit the middle mushroom. 7 mushrooms 1 replay 10 mushroom 2 replays .the special was not a replay but it had a coil that use to shoot the ball back into play . keep making the videos you have help me fix quite afew machines yours D Todd

Great, I walk up after Tommy FINALLY finishes and the machine is harder to play! 😞 Really cool setup tbh - the creativity and how they made that work with old-school tech is really neat! 🤓 Thanks for bringing us along and explaining that feature! 😃 If I get some space I really need to get some EM machines. Love playing them and, thanks to you and your brother, I love 'em even more seeing and understanding what's under the hood! 😎

Great work Ronnie. That automatic adjuster for lighting the 10 point scoring is a tricky and hidden feature - designed to make things harder for good players. ….It’s almost cheating, but I guess you can call it a feature. ….but only for the operator, and not the player. …I don’t think it’s accidental that Gottlieb never had this kind of stuff. When the players worked out the machine got harder the minute they had some success, I’m not sure if this feature would have been somewhat counter productive. …The players may have decided to put coins in the Gottlieb’s and Williams machines where this was not going on…Not sure but it would not surprise me. Players generally have an instinct for a machine that plays well, and the same, every time. Thanks for explaining this unique and different aspect to the early Bally games. I may have mentioned it before but in the 60s in Australia this is how things were: for every 10 pinball machines, 7 were Gottlieb’s, 2 were Williams and 1 was a Bally. …With the introduction of solid state games Bally went from last to first in double quick time, but for E M games Gottlieb was always king.

As far as I know (I wasn't around!) that was pretty much the distribution over here too. Gottlieb was king, and I run into many more Williams games than Ballys from this era. Still, I like the Ballys as well just because they're different (and Ted Zale tried really hard to make an interesting game)

Hi Ron! I have more than a passing curiosity concerning the configuration of the coin mech(s) on this machine... The coin slots appear to be incorporated into the lock bar... Was this common in machines of this era?
