I've never seen a happier group of kids. Growing up in Los Angeles as a Protestant kid my brother and I often noticed that the nicest kids were those from Catholic schools. It seems that on the whole a Catholic school education was good for children.

No wonder people taught we were thick. The garbage they taught us in those days.

@chinn11 I don't think we should beat ourselves up about what went before..But we should learn from same, things have changed for the better, Social services, education, health care, We may well see a better informed generation making correct choices and removing the gombeen Politicians out of the Dail.. in respect of immigrants i don't think any outher Nation would have taken such a large amount into their country more seemlessly that Here. In Britian and the North it's the opposite.

It wasn't until the early fifth century that christianity took a toehold on to the Irish Soil.. so in that regard i don't think there were beating rulers off desks.. and teaching catechism to the young Celts of Ballyfermot ... back then...
