Baltic Ridge Trail outside of Placerville, CA

The Baltic Ridge Trail starts off Mormon Emigrant Trail and is about 40 Miles outside of Placerville. This area has many forest roads and that is ultimately what lead us into getting turned around. We did have to drive through some tight spots with brush encroaching onto the trail. This would not be a good trail for a full width. The majority of the trail was easy driving with a dirt road and some fist size rocks. On occasion, we would come across a steep hill with some deep ruts or some tight technical turns with some larger rocks. We did find our way back to the Road eventually.
Total Distance: 18 miles (Point to Point)
Unpaved Mileage: 18 miles
Driving Time: 3.5 hours
Driving Difficulty: 3 most of the time, 4 in a few spots

IVE TRIED LOOKING IT UP ON GOOGLE MAPS. HOW ARE U TYPING IT IN? ALSO WHERE THE TRAIL BEGINS IS THER PARKING SPACE FOR A TRAILER IF U HAUL YR JEEP ON A 16FT TRAILER? AND DOES THIS TRAIL HAVE EASY ACCES BACK TO BEGINNING OF THE TRAIL AS WELL?

Good stuff! ive been on that trail a bunch back in the day! me and buddys used to go up iron mtn rd all the time to wheel! some cool trails out yonder! Where you out of! im in cameron park now but grew up in pollock pines! Keep wheeling!

I got lost on this trail last week in my 4Runner! Took a side trail before the first camp site and got totally ass backwards. It was certainly fun though.

They certainly are a lot of different Trails out in this area. Hopefully you had some GPS going so you can find your way back. I'm thinking about driving many of them and seeing where they go and catalog in them so people don't have to get lost out there

Sweeeet!! Yeah, it was a fun trail. For everyone out there with a pavement princess, these trails out here might not be a good idea. With the Trail 4Runner, we got a few scratches and by a few, I mean a ton. Thanks @snailtrail4x4 !!

Right now there's snow up there, but I'd look up at fordyce lake, meadow Lake or probably lots of places out off of Mormon Immigrant Trail

What would this trail be like this time of year (April)? Would there still be a bunch of snow? I'm going to be in the general vicinity this weekend and was looking to get in some exploring.

There probably will be snow... At least snow with tracks already cut out. The elevation is pretty high.

Most fire roads off of Mormon Immigrant Trail are easy fire roads, no need for lockers. That is where I take my 16 year old son to practice his off roading.
