Oh my goodness, that was a real treat to see! I could almost smell the popcorn and taste the cotton candy I had to beg my Mom to buy, since she seldom let us have sugar. I celebrated all of my teenage years at the City Fair until they stopped having it. What a sad day that was. Smh I miss those days, the 70's were everything! Lol That was really nice to see. Thanks for posting..

Curly Bush...I agree! Seemed so innocent back then. So many families - white and black. All getting along in the name of fun and in the name of that once great city.

Memories, seems like people had more respect for one another when we came together to have a good time.

Back when Baltimore city had almost 1 million people. As of today December 17 2019 the city has a little over 600,000 people. I was 3 yrs old back in 1973 but I do remember the City Fair throughout the 1970s..

Last time I went was 1977 or 78 I think. We sat on the roof of the Morris Mechanic Theatre and smoked a bowl of flakes (pcp soaked greens) first. I don’t remember the fair just the lights, some neon lights and more lights. Federal Hill has a great view of dwtn.

Don't think I ever went when it moved from Fayette Street and loved it. Just remember AFRAM festival at Rash field.

that's pretty much how i remember it. my folks met working in the Maryland National building (mini empire state building, so to speak). water skiing in the harbor in 1973 must have been in a no fall zone, for sure.

This was a perfect day for a family. Nowadays you don't see this you half to dodge bullets or be afraid of a deadly virus in crowds or someone tryna kidnap you or your child or jack your car when u go home what a sad society we have become

It’s sad what B’more has turned into. A total rathole. It was once a nice city.

Lee B. ~ It is not a total rat hole. I live there and I know how it is. I reside in a nice neighborhood. The city gets a negative rap based on certain sections, and of course the bad news is all that's heard about in the media.

The people are great. But without jobs & a decent tax base, the city has gotten a raw deal.
