Thank you my friend. I really sprite appreciate it. That’s one of my favorites in my collection. That thing shoots like dream. I think I need to measure my draw length again. Judging by the video footage it seems to have expanded some more. I always worry about over taxing the limbs. Appreciate you my friend. Have a great evening. Best regards

Woa! Some great tips and tricks there I will definitely try out. I built up a set of bamboo shafts that I got from 3Rivers and they were great but I can't get any more and I only bought 6. I should have ordered more...

Hi Scott! Im been doing Bamboo shafts for 2 years now, and they are fatastic to shoot with. After doing as you do with drilling wholes in a piece of wood, and heating up, I got lazy and bought a sanding machine. So know I can sand down both ends, and using plastic nocks which fits perfect, and Im using tips with treads inside, and after small sanding on the machine the tip fits perfect as well. I use melting glue, its a bit messy, but works great, and are hardening within an hour, ready to shoot. Scott, test as light Bamboo shaft as you can find about 330 grain, then put an 80 grain tip, and with nock and feathers, you have an arrow weight on 430grains in total, then you have a perfect arrow to shoot with. I have noticed with Bamboo, they dont like twist, then they easlily break, and the weight on your arrows is very important, lets say if you shoot 6 arrows, they should not vary more then 10 grains.( about the same with Cedar shafts) But the Spine you can forget about, it doesnt matter if you shoot a 45 in spine or 62 or more, as long as the weight of the arrows is close. ofcourse if you have a bow with 45 in Lbs, then you should not shoot spine lower that 40. With wooden shafts even the spine on your arrows should be the same, but on Bamboo shafts this is not the story at all I been doing arrows in cedar wood for 8 years, but since I got hold on Bamboo, I was lost in love for the Bamboo. I have even tried these Flower sticks(Bamboo) that you can buy in flower shops, heated them up and straiten them up, grinding the nocks on the shafts down carefully, took me between 6-8 hours to make one arrow, but when I shoot, they work as good as anybody else of the purchased Bamboo , and its very funny to work with them, sorry for my English, but Im original Swedish

My friend, thank you for the comment and great information. I’m new to bamboo arrows in a lot of ways, so it’s a learning process for me. You seem to have it down my friend. I like the idea of the sanding machine. Do you have a jig or something that keeps the sanding consistent from arrow to arrow? That does seem the easier option. I’ve looked around the internet for screw on tips but have yet to find them. If you have a recommendation I’d love to hear about it. I really appreciate you taking the time to share this with me. Have a great day. Best regards

Tried to upload a picture on my sanding machine , but it doesn’t work here, do you have an e-mail adress to send to? Not shure if you live in US or UK, but here in Sweden it’s easy to find Arrow tips with treads inside

Beautiful arrows, do you ever bother to paper tune them? Or are they usually spot on?
@ScottWinters
@ScottWinters 3 ай бұрын
Thank you my friend. I haven’t paper tuned in a long time. The last time I paper tuned was back when I used to shoot compound archery. Probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to do that from time to time. I am usually pleased with the results I get, but wouldn’t be a bad idea to get a good picture of end results. I appreciate your time my friend. Have a great evening. Best regards
