The subsoiler is a must on the rhysomes. Good video. This is what I have been doing. After each rain I go out and pick up rhysomes.

Be careful with mimosas. That one seems invincible but they can appear dead for a long time. I love the sound of that brush hog doing its thing. Take that.😂

We have a few mimosas along the bamboo "wall" there. They are beautiful when in bloom. But I understand they can be somewhat invasive. NOT anything like bamboo, but they still spread. Thanks for the view & comment!

I'm dealing with the same problem. Thanks for sharing your methods, if you are able to so quickly knock it down with a brush hog, I should be able to skid steer it down so I'll give it a shot.

Yeah. You can knock it down quickly. But…it comes back quickly too. It’s constant maintenance to keep it down. I might have to drag my subsoiler through there several more times to try to slow it down. But for now regular mowing (with my riding mower) keeps it in check. Good luck to you. Were you ever able to get it to stop spreading? We have some problem that was planned on property during 1950s

The subsoiler slowed the spread of it some but definitely wasn’t a miracle worker. Wife and I were snipping away at the new growth earlier today. It’s a constant battle. Going to try something different on it next weekend. Going to find and snip several of the running roots. Then going to put a couple drops of concentrated herbicide in each side of the snipped root. We’ll see how that goes. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@usmcgunz1066 wow! I know it’s horrible. I’m seriously thinking I’ll just get machinery and dig out all the roots. Then trench the property line (came from neighbors). Thank for the quick response and hopefully we both get rid of it

I’m literally about to embark on the same venture. Previous property owner acquired the land in 1950. Later planted bamboo…and here we are today!🙄🤦🏾‍♂️ Looking to build multiple housing rental units in the back of the property.

We had some bamboo in our neighborhood growing up, but nothing like that. That is amazing! You sure did accomplish a ton!

Thanks. When I was a kid my elementary school had some huge bamboo near the ball field. I was amazed. Now as a property owner I realize what a pain in the butt it can be. It’s a chore keeping it at bay.
