Apparently a lot of people are having this issue at the end of almost every print, including myself. The ptfe tube minimum radius mod helps but it is still bad. I think its a combo of weak AMS motor + printing PLA & heat creep softening the filament making it wider. I bet it can be resolved by modifying the filament changing sequence gocde. This needs resolved.

You are more capable than you give yourself credit for. It is 2 screws and a T shaped push button on the inside back of the AMS where the tube goes in. pushing that allows you to pull the tube out, making removal fairly simple. just watch the 2 wires as you lift the internals out.(also easy to disconnect/reconnect). Scary on your new expensive equipment? yes. hard? no.

Disconnecting filament from quick release, pulling filament gently AND THEN just clicking "retry" would do the job. Disconnecting the printer is not necessary at all. That's a note for those who have access to back without having to move printer to other place.

I just disconnect the tube and tell it to retry. still a pain though because if you aren't sitting there for every swap, you never know when #3 is going to get stuck. I have a hint for you though: it is almost every time you leave the room.

Then the problem is a design problem, because the bend that the tube makes just at the connection with the extruder is too strong and the filament gets stuck, so the AMS motors do not have enough force to pull it out.

Since then I have gotten the message a couple of times. There a new easier way. Just disconnect from the back. But you don't need to pull it out. Just hit resume on the screen and it should unwind. Once the filament is out of the extruder portion and just hanging out.

@@stevekay6895 It's getting stuck in the print head. The filament cutter cuts it but it won't retract randomly. I have this issue on all my BL machines except 2 of them. This issue was kinda rare until 2 updates ago. I really think BL changed something. Maybe they reduced the voltage to the ams motors? Idk but I constantly have to run from machine to machine and pop the Bowden tube loose behind the machines where it comes from the ams hub into the machine. Then I pull the filament with ease like 2mm and hit retry and BAM it retracts fine. BL support runs me in circles. I've sent countless videos, log files, and multiple tickets but they won't even offer to send a motor or anything. I love BL but their support sucks. You'd think after giving them $25k+ they'd offer a little help.

I think I narrowed my problem down to the filament with isolation. Hope you get it sorted tho 👍

@@stevekay6895 Thanks for the ideas. Yes I've tried every type of filament on hand. PETG never gets stuck in any machine, I'm guessing because it's so slick. But PA, ABS, ASA, PLA ,PLA marble all get stuck randomly. I've tried Bambu, Sunlu, Esun, Stronghero, Colido, Kingroon, Jayo, Flashforge, and Overture PLA and they all randomly stick. I even tried putting weights inside the spools but it didn't help. Also it's odd that you mention slot 4 being worse because on some of my units slot 4 is worse but most slot 3 is the worst. Rarely ever do the 1st two slots have an issue.

this is the most frustrating issue i have ever encountered with a 3d printer in the last ten years. it's not like anything needs to happen besides unhooking the coupler that holds in the ptfe tubing on the back between the coupler and the ams. Does anyone know a better more permanent fix for this? I do this at least 30 times on a SMALL multicolor print.
@3ddiy
@3ddiy Жыл бұрын
So people believe the issue is from the sharp bend of the tube at the top of the extruder assembly. So people have made a model that keeps the tube more rounded and less of a turn. But I can’t seem to find the design right now. But I haven’t had the issue pop up. Since I used a different brand filament. For me it always happened with this one roll not matter which ams slot I had it in.

For me it's a nightmare issue. I been working on this error for 3 days now. The extruder is not clogged and filament not stuck. Refuses to load any filament. If I turn off then on after fail load I can manually extrude from menu but as soon as I try to print it retracts and loads 5 times and says clogged. I have had it for 6 hours when it started this. Bought this specific printer to have a reduced troubleshooting and tinkering only to be stuck forever

@3ddiy appreciate the reply. Everything is bambu brand. Everyone keeps saying replacing the ptfe fixed it?? One guy explained it exactly what is happening to me. Goes all the way to extruder gears. Sits for 3 seconds then returns to ams , rinse repeat 5 timed then error
@3ddiy
@3ddiy 6 ай бұрын
@@ChrisHensley2 its possible there is a jam in the extruder. A piece of filament is lodged in there. I would follow the steps from bambu on dissassembling part of it. Or use the induced needle to push up from the nozzle side. See if you feel any obstruction. or if you can free it up. As said in my last reply I have also had the same issue with particular third party rolls that the ams just didn't like to pull and retract. But I think that may be a different issue now that you describe the pushing and sitting for 3 seconds.
@ChrisHensley2
@ChrisHensley2 6 ай бұрын
@3ddiy I took the whole assembly apart. I promise there is nothing there. I played with the extruder with it all taken apart. My theory is that the tension screw is way too tight, but bambu in their infinite wisdom does not provide clearance when that screw is loosened. It takes a fair, hefty push to get through the gears and feel tight. I loosen the screw, it is smooth and if I turn the gear, the filament moves. However, this is not helpful because I am forced to tighten the screw again to put it all back together. I don't know if I am crazy at this point 🤪

@@ChrisHensley2 if nothing is in the extruder then it’s the ams or the bend on top of the extruder. Have you tried taking the ams out of the equation and just run it with the spool on the spool holder on the back of the machine?

you have to push in on the lock(ring around the tube on the connector) helps if you push the tube in alittle as well. then it should release and you should be able to pull the tube out. If not you can try to go above the extruder. Try to straighten the bend with your fingers or lift up the lid and hit retry. That is where it's pinching and needs to release tension or pull it out.

This is because right when it ends it's trying to retract the filament all the way. People believe the issue is the hard bed right above the extruder and have designed a more rounded elbow attachment that you can print and attach. So it makes it a bit smoother for the filament to be pulled out.

@@3ddiy please don't be mad at me. there are just too many ways the filament could be stuck. in my latest case I had to completely disassemble the extruder to get the filament out of it. but even in your case you completely skipped the details. hmm... maybe that's a reason why I don't like shorts in general 🤔

@@therealchris no worries. So this error here happens at the end of a print. when it's all done. It's a fairly common problem with Bambu users. The error message has to match what I shown. it's when the filament gets pulled back up into the AMS. When you hit retry it just get stuck. But the filament is usually already out of the hot end and just stuck up in the bend. What you had sounds like a different issue. Sounds like you found the right resource and fixed it. My buddy Lukeinthegarage had what he thought was a jammed nozzle but it turned out to be a bad extruder board. So there are the rare instances where it's not what I mentioned.

There is a flaw in the design of the printer. The PTFE tube on top of the hot end bends too much causing the filament to be pinched and difficult to pull out.
