CNC Kitchen has a video titled "Texturing 3D Prints for Strength!" on why you can't print plain flat walls in vase mode and it warps, and how to get around it using textures.

New test? It's just another 3D printer. It will be the same test as all the others. 😂

It would be interesting to see if the strength of filament or layer adhesion changes with print speed and by how much. The P1P will allow that wide range of print speeds. Run one in QUITE and one in SPORT….same GCODE. (Yes, I know the settings are just feed rate changes (LOL))
@dangerous8333

@@genegreiner7766 A voron also allows that wide range of printing speed. So the tests have already been done. There are videos on KZfaq if you're curious. If you're specifically talking about the performance of this printer, okay, but I think you'll find it has the same results as any other strength tests he's done. I don't understand some of the comments though. The Bambu is just another 3D printer. The only thing special about this printer is that it competes with a voron but comes completely set up ready to go. That's it. It doesn't have a built-in flux capacitor and it's not a time machine. 🤷 Other 3D printers can already do what this printer does. It's just your average person doesn't have the skills necessary to use those advanced machines. Convenience is all this printer has over other printers. Which is a great thing. I just think people have the wrong idea about this printer and talk about it like it's some giant leap in technology. It's not.

I think Bambu Lab have been very shrewd in the reasonable pricing of their propritary parts, who wants to pay more for third party parts when the official ones are a fraction of the third party ones? usually it is the other way around!

A few questions regarding this printer (maybe for your next videos): how does the p1p calibrate the z-height? can you adjust the z height yourself? using baby steps? does the printer calibrate something regarding the filament while printing the lines on the sheet before the print? 5 min calibration before every print - is this necessary/ can you skip the calibration for even faster prints? how do you change the nozzle, what kind of nozzles does bambu lab offer? measure the printer noise while calibration and while printing. how much can it be reduced by slower printing and lower fan speeds? thank you for your videos, i often watch them after work. your voice and presentation is somehow very pleasant
@TMS5100
@TMS5100 Жыл бұрын
p1p uses the exact same z probing as the x1 - piezoelectric transducers under the bed which detect the nozzle touches the bed. there is no z height adjustment needed.
@sulphur_fpv
@sulphur_fpv Жыл бұрын
If you do need too you can adjust z Hight in the start gcode for filament you are using, there are also other settings in the slicer you can adjust for a similar effect. I needed to lower my z offset on my P1P for some ASA that I am using with the textured bed so I set it in the start gcode for that material in the slices and now I never have to touch it again for that filament. I use softfever slice but presume it would be the same in bambu

Very nice review, and impressive results. Regarding maintenance: I wonder, how are the bearings toward the carbon fiber rods made on the P1P? Roller bearings or glide bearings? As I see it, the carbon fiber surface is very abrasive, and a glide bearing would wear out quite fast. Even a roller bearing would wear out, as the surface of the carbon fiber rods will become textured. Please investigate, if possible 🙂
@NikitaLab
@NikitaLab Жыл бұрын
They're brass bushings, not sure how long they're expected to last but for some reference my igus bushings only lasted about ~100 hours with carbon tubes they are indeed abrasive.
@ashleys3dprintshop
@ashleys3dprintshop Жыл бұрын
I can answer part of that. I have been printing, on X1C, for 2300+ hours and just perform general maintenance. ipa cleaning of rods, belt tensioning and Z screw greasing and prints are fine since I started using the printer in Aug 2022.

P1P or X1C is easy - do you want to print with abrasive materials? (Carbon fiber which needs enclosure). If no, go with P1P, for PLA it may be even better because of its open structure
@skelethornbro
@skelethornbro Жыл бұрын

If you test petg remember to slow down the part fan. I use it from 20 to 40% and bridges in 90% so you have a balance in strong parts and great finish quality. My two cents.

P1P or the FLsun super racer? what would you chose if can have only one of the two? I am considering the FLsun SR over the P1P but I am not sure . I already have the Ender 3 pro S1 , not bad I but would like more speed.
@MyTechFun
@MyTechFun Жыл бұрын
FLSun is much quieter, but to print good it needs some basic upgrades (Extruder, Spool holder, PEI sheet). P1P don't need any upgrades if you don't need an enclosure or hardened nozzle. So P1P.

Hello Igor! Thanks for this video! Question: What about the accuracy if, for example, you want to print different parts that should then fit into each other? Do we also have to take care of E-Steps, Flow and XYZ calibration here, as we have been used to do up to now? Thanks in advance!

I don't like the closed-off system. Regardless of whether a company thinks they can do better than the user, I still want that control. If I didn't have printers already maybe I'd buy this. Hard to say though. It has a small build volume. I have an E3V2, S1 and Sapphire Sp5 and I don't feel like I need to upgrade to this.
