Brand new P1S arrived and had an irritating squeak coming from it that none of my other machines had and it appeared to be coming from the rear left hand side so i decided to pull the rear cover off and use it as an opportunity to show people how to correct the belt alignment which was causing my belt to ride the side of the idler pulley causing it to squeak this would eventually cause premature belt wear and possible failure

Really Thankyou after 250 hours of printing it starting making weird noises. And telling how the belt system works (spring loaded) was the key in the proces fixing it. Thanks

And... strange noise issues fixed after following your guide! I have p1s since a month and it have started to be noisy when printhead was moving front left to rear right (initial and last layers + infill). Thanks :)

I had a squeaking and clicking noise and this totally fixed my issue. Seemed to have reduced VFA and improved surface quality too. Thank you! Just curious, moving the print head that fast manually is safe and won't generate electricity that could damage the system?

I have this issue right now with every belt including the Z belt underneath and this has been super useful but I'm not there yet, to be clear once you get the belt centred better, should you slack off and tighten both screws without the pressure being applied? I have a bad feeling something in mine got bent somewhere as it tried too hard, but I'm gonna keep going to try sort it before looking into that!

@@Joshwaa_s so judging by bambus wiki it looks like its designed to self tension its just that because its centrally sprung it may not be straight when its tightened leading to issues i would say i tightened mine partially after the initial spring tension but not by much as you can see from the video it would have moved the pulley about 1mm more thats all

@@Kenprints Great thanks - I ended up having one of the pullies top screws tighten about 1mm of pressure also and it seems to be behaving better now!

Hey I just got one of these. I was wondering if you could possibly show a vid of you plucking the belts to show the tension? especially the Y belts. think my belts may be loose but I have no basis for comparison

@Renfotzer belts are tensioned by the spring tension so once you loosen the bolts it should tension correctly just needs aligning as for the bolts if you have a 3" long allen wrench held from the end and the bolt is tight and you get about 5mm flex in the length of the shaft of the allen key without the bolt turning then you are probably tight enough - currently working on a 3d printed gauge you can clip onto the allen wrench to gauge the torque applied (roughly)
