Do you mean the belts or the bolts ?
@RenfotzerАй бұрын
@@Kenprints both haha
@KenprintsАй бұрын
@Renfotzer belts are tensioned by the spring tension so once you loosen the bolts it should tension correctly just needs aligning as for the bolts if you have a 3" long allen wrench held from the end and the bolt is tight and you get about 5mm flex in the length of the shaft of the allen key without the bolt turning then you are probably tight enough - currently working on a 3d printed gauge you can clip onto the allen wrench to gauge the torque applied (roughly)

I had to do this too while I was deep cleaning the extrusion gears because they were not gripping filament tightly enough and gave me errors. I removed the gears and cleaned with wire brass brush and compressed air. The bambu A1 and A1 Mini wiki maintenance and troubleshooting diagnosing pages are excellent and with great photos. It's not as intimidating as it seemed after doing these steps myself. I check the tightness of those heater element screws from time to time (there's 7 screws altogether, including the 4 on back side of the heater stone).

@@Kenprints What was the then rationale to sell them? And do resell buyers have no problems with Bambu Lab support/warranty in case of a problem with a resold printer that is less than 12 months old?
@KenprintsАй бұрын
@Tome4kkkk similar to someone trading in a car after 12 months of ownership - machines are still in great useable condition but have mainly paid for themselves - i upgrade to brand new ones and someone gets a good deal on a used one - warranties would all be up on the 3 that were sold at this stage or very close i would say - also if anyone that purchased one had any issues i would assist if needed - incl my previous sale which was the a1 and the following day they announced the cable bed issue - i offered them their money back which they declined and instead i put the claim through for their replacement bed and gave them the 120 voucher also so they did well 😂

how about swapping the fans for more silent ones? I heard that this is a major improvement as well.
@KenprintsАй бұрын
more silent fans as far as i can tell just move less air - similar issues with pc cooling fans
@AM-dm6jqАй бұрын
@@Kenprints well not all fans are built equally, there's noisy and less noisy parts I guess. Anyway I just saw a few videos of people doing so, and totally silencing the fan over the motherboard. (the one that's accessed by removing the rear panel). One issue seems to be the fan starting to get really loud from wear due to exposure to heat from not directing enough air over the cooling fins so they are baking the fan eventually. The other just because it is a noisy fan in itself if i recall correctly.

whats the best balance of noise - eg if you open the top/door can you reduce chamber fan speeds or does the open door mean more noise escapes than it saves? The fans seem way louder than the A1 but there are more of them so maybe makes sense.

Hey, you don't have to answer this if you don't want but... If I swap nozzles in my a1, will the printer know that I did that and make compensations for it? I see that they do have an RFID tag on them I only ask because I just got an A1 and I can't get bamboo studio to work with my raspberry pi so I have just been using the pre-sliced files online. I want to use marble filament and I have a hardened nozzle but I'm wondering if files that were sliced for a smaller nozzle will work if I switch to the .05 hardened steel
