Is it really? Haney was probably heavier on the night? You could argue the weight cut itself did the damage but that’s it, 3lb extra is nothing in reality if both guys are equally hydrated.

Yeah facts, I mean everything was against Ryan on the night. The biased ref, the 112-112 judge, all the media and the odds were massively stacked in Haney's favour so A LOT of people lost money that night. Apparently they knew the 'results' a day or 2 after the fight so why wait 10 days to release the 'results'? Plus VADA is voluntary testing so why would he volunteer to get tested if he knew it would come back positive?

You can buy ostarine pretty readily and just take a pill/drops at home. It clears in about 2wks so likely he just didn’t stop taking it in time (if he did) or he’s had a tainted supplement which is also fairly likely. I’m sure there are trainers/coaches who are doing it but feel it’ll be low.

When Garcia failed to make the weight and his behaviour also seemed to be a bit erratic, I said to my mate that I think the fight should be called off because something is not right here. I know there were comments on you tube saying the same thing. The punishments needs to change because the way things are the fighters are always going to be prepared to take the risk. Of course, like all the others that have been caught, he will claim to be innocent, and will undoubtedly get the best lawyers etc to 'prove' that his sample was contaminated. But I believe that boxing now has a real problem, and I would not be surprised if, at the top levels of the sport, this is widespread. They are all at it

'Ban the trainers' call is nonsensical. Unless you have witnesses who are willing to testify against a trainer or nutritionist, or anybody else for that matter, you'll never be able to pursue this. It's ok saying that fighters don't do it alone, but fighters are communicating with and advised by plenty of people who know nothing about sport, never mind boxing. The current boxing scene is full of fallouts between boxers and promoters. Ostensibly it is about money, but what is also a factor is young men being advised by their 'mates' about what they should do, who they should sign with, who they should fight, how they should train etc. If Mick from Mansfield can get PEDs from his local gym, then so can a boxer without his manager, trainer, nutrionist and promoter knowing anything about it.

Why can't they announce the results of tests before fight ? in any other sport they wouldn't be able to compete but as you say its all about the money and if he's found to have deliberately taken substance his purse should be forfeited, the testing authority should be looked at as well surely can't be allowed to happen the whole thing's bonkers.

You’ll find in a lot of sports drug test results for participants don’t become known until after the event. For instance: athletic events, weight lifting, tennis, etc. Same for multidiscipline events like the Olympics. That’s because they do tests straight after the event has taken place. And that’s why you get a lot of retrospective bans and stripping of titles and medals. But in something like boxing, I’ve often wondered if there’s any spiking going on. It may be possible maybe for someone on the opposite team to taint an opponent’s water or something. I remember Tyson Fury being very, very careful about his water and only drinking from bottles given to him by specifically someone trusted from his team and not from anyone else. He was concerned about someone spiking his drinks. So, maybe it’s not cut and dried that Garcia deliberately cheated. I mean, how could he be that stupid knowing he’s going to get tested? The whole thing is so suspicious.

Adam really needs to stop. He had clean drug tests all the way up to the fight. Ostarine would have had no impact on his performance in the timeframe between the cleared test and failed test. Secondly it was only a trace amount and has been found in contaminated supplements. Unlike these guys who just jump on the bandwagon listen to Chris Algieri who said the amount of substance found was very important, it’s not just about testing positive
