"The pigeon who dreams of singing" is a fan made manga with voiced characters inspired by the history of BAND-MAID and its members.
All the characters, conversations and events are purely fictional.
Some elements have been altered or created to fit the story.
In this first chapter, we are following Mika and her dad while they discover a new Japanese rock band.

He is the reason why she started to listen to BAND-MAID.

Mika's story is very similar to mine. The night I stumbled onto them ( wasn't looking for them didn't know they existed), I was blown away by Thrill - of course! The song ended. I played it again. And again. Then I searched for more. I found a few videos - Real Existence and Don't Let Me Down stand out - and I lost a lot of sleep that night. 6+ years and I still haven't been the same! The best accident I ever had, po! Many thanks to everyone involved in this great story!

So true. When I found Band-Maid, after the first video in 2019 - The Dragon Cries - I binged all their videos the remainder of the night, then looked into buying their CD's. I bought Conqueror first because it had just come out and had The Dragon Cries on it. I then purchased the remaining CD's and DVD's, and started my now extensive merch collection. lol

@@davidcampbellii6342 What got the onion ninjas attacking out of nowhere was Akane turning & bowing to the crowd as the Maids disappeared down the steps, it was like a gesture of finality that closed the whole show.🥲 I'll be watching my archive ticket many times yet :)

wOWWW! Sooo good!! ...memories...I actually stumbled upon Band-Maid on KZfaq 9 years ago (Thrill, of course) while looking for Manga! Now I'm enjoying their 10th Year Anniversary thru Manga! and..their show last night was...whoaa.. I have no words...thank you for this!

自分は初めて聴いたのはchoose meでしたが、本当に同じような感覚でした。いろんな音楽を聴いてきましたが、このバンドは凄いと思い色んな曲を聴いてみたいという気持ちになり、そこからバンドの事を知りたい、さらに小鳩の事をもっと知りたいという流れでband-maidにどっぷりハマってしまいました。あと、t-shinjiさんが声で出演していたのにはビックリしました。たまにコメントで絡んで頂いているので凄いなと思いました。

Fantastic job once again. Thanks to everyone, to Ohrenje, t-shinji, Ayano Irizuki, Hishida Moriyuka, Kaspar Michaels and last but not least Numu for the great sketches. Ohrenje will - rightly - go down in history as a prime B-M documentalist and t-shinji as the man and development professional who, with his translations, enabled us Westerners to understand B-M better and at least for me increase my admiration for them by a few factors 👍🙏🖤

This is absolutely brilliant. For the past 6 years of my life a hard rock n roll band has melted my heart which had become hardened against modern day music. This journey seems to speak to a lot of fans and I believe many of us will be able to relate to this story in some form. I am touched by this first episode and eagerly await the continuing story.

What a great video. And it ends with the most interesting part! And even that opening part is so emotional. I almost cried when Mika said she missed her childhood moments. It's so lifelike! And the production... This video was made so cool, so professionally! Every frame of the manga is so... alive, so beautiful! The voices are very pleasant and very interesting to listen to. The voice actors did their best! But what fascinates me most is working with sound. All these little sounds bring the manga to life. This is incredibly cool! I'm very sorry that I couldn't attend the premiere of the video with everyone. But many thanks to all the creators of this wonderful manga: the artist, voice actors, translators, and of course Ohrenje himself. Thank you for the video! Now I can't wait for the next part where we see Miku!

Most excellent Ohrenje!...The art work is perfect and pace just right...Looking forward to more...Oh!..I have have MP3 players similar to the one shown! (not the Ipod style)...haha!..First one I ever owned...Only like 512MB if I recall, so didn't hold alot of tracks...I have a black one and a blue one.

Dad sounds awesome and I wish for all kids to have that kind of relationship with their fathers. I sadly didn't even meet mine till I was 20. As far as bandmaid I am very similar. I heard their first Video on KZfaq and it was repeated several times over. I buy all their albums hard copy, saw them 3 times in the states (sadly couldn't afford more) and tell everyone I know about them. Found out about them as a suggested video through Babymetal whome I have seen 2 times. Then Band-maid led me to bands like Hanabie and Trident. My life is better with them in it.
