At the time of this live performance 2018, their ages were: Saiki (24), MISA (26), Kanami (27), Miku (27), Akane (28). This was in 2 years ago, so now they are 2 years older.

I’ve been a fan of Band Maid for a couple years this old metal head is obsessed with these extremely talented ladies. They been around for about 8 years. They are around mid twenties but have 80 years experience each. Try Take Me High ( great call & response bass & guitar). Moratorium, Puzzle, Play then around 80 more live of course! They are all round about 30 years old, only age i know for sure is Akane (drummer) she turned 30 at 13th december last year. Everyone else is around the same age, except for SAIKI (main vocalist) she is 25-26 years old. They are also writing the songs on their own, especially Kanami (lead guitar). This instrumental is known as "Saiki´s pee break" and to give her voice a rest... All of them are incredible talented on their instruments and are VERY humble and close with their fans. "Onset" is an instrumental song for lead singer Saiki to take a break. Not included in the album. They just released their new album CD "Unseen World" on January 20th. Two videos, "Manners" and "Warning," have been released, and two more videos are expected to come out. In this Video, you can see that the bassist Misa instantly switches from pick to tap. Their Budokan live on February 11th was canceled, but it was announced that it will be streamed live on the same day. Tickets will be on sale soon. It seems that it will be performed with the set list prepared for the Budokan live.

They are the best hard rock band around, and probably for the last 30-40 years or so. They are amazing!

I wish EDDIE VAN HALEN could see his 5150 AMP standing tall on stage as these lovely maids’ shred!!!! Hope to see them live in 2021 rocking CALIFORNIA!!!!! This performance is over 2 years old so they were all 24 - 28 .... well, actually 26 - 28 as this video doesn't feature leader singer Saiki (youngest) ... but there were 4 of them onstage - while Miku is solidly holding down the rythme, she isn't prominent in this video given the virtuouso performances by the other 3... but loved your reaction and appreciation of the world-class musicianship of this incredible band.... not sure if you've checked out their new releases, but "Manners" is an instant classic

They are in their late 20s but Akane (Drum), Misa (Bass) and Kanami (L guitar/songwriter/arranger) have been involved with music since they were as young as 4 year olds and are well versed in multiple instruments. Infact Kanami’s primary instrument is piano and she still writes many of their songs first in that. You’ve got to check out their latest releases “Manners” and “Warning”.

I found Band-Maid about two years ago while being bored at work watching silly Japanese Music videos. (see Baby Metal "Gimme Chocolate"). They kept popping up in my recommendations, but the thumbnail clearly showed them wearing silly Maid costumes. But hey, that day I was watching silly videos. OMFG! is all I can say. After you watch and listen to these musicians you will never think of them as silly. The first thing I focused in on was the Drummer. I had assumed this was just another Pop-Idol group where the girls just sing and dance, looking cute as they do their thing. But from the first ("Start Over") the Drummer was clearly playing a funky tasteful groove. It went from this kind of light guitar pop to slowly built up piece that had me clicking on the next one on the list: "Thrill." A total throwback to 80s Hard Rock nearly Metal. The drummer is sprinkling in double pedals and just keeping it rock solid. At this point I'm impressed and had to keep going. "Real Existence" is what put me over the edge. Akane (I had read the comments to find out her name at this point) goes completely Keith Moon wild on the drums while never losing control. Each verse, each chorus and the guitar solo all have multiple sub sections on the drums, and it is simply amazing. Simple, but ever moving, changing and perfectly locked into the rest of the music. So, after watching every last official video on their channel multiple times, made my first iTunes purchase EVER (and first money spent on new music in DECADES) I called up a friend of mine who had played guitar professionally in Japan back in the 90s. "Dude, I just found THE MOST AMAZING Japanese band! and they're all girls! and all dressed up li...." "Oh, you found Band-Maid, here, let me send you a link" ONSET. I think I cried. I've not been THIS into a band since first learning to play drums listening to Rush. They are THAT good.

age is 25 to 30. Classically trained musicians: piano, acoustic guitar, composition, so they play many instruments well. Kanami write the music, and Miku the lyrics generally.

this song started as probably just a jam session. they liked it, improved it, refined it, perfected it and jam it out now. this is song that is recommended quite a bit to show how bad ass they are before the lyrics because some cant get over the fact that english isnt thier first language unfortunately.

Hi guys, first of all thank you for posting this video. I can tell you both enjoyed this very much, especially Hank, he was grinning ear to ear the entire time. So this is the second time I’ve heard this band also, the first time was with your first reaction. And I, like Hank, I’m really starting to enjoy them. And yes you can definitely rock out with only three people. Just look at Rush, Nirvana, ZZ Top, and Motörhead. Anyway thanks again. By the way, I love your shirt Hank!

I heard an interview where Kanami (lead guitar) said that she was inspired by Deep Purple and Santana. There were others but those two stuck in my mind. Kanami also writes all their music. It's not just cute. It's seriously ass-kickin'.
