Trip down memory lane. I am glad Lil Cumin didn't make it elsewise we would not be enjoying another of these fabulous slide shows. "To know where you're going understand where you've been and if you're going nowhere any road will take you there. Both attributed to George Harrison. And about this virus that has turned the world inside out Tom Petty sang "the waiting is the hardest part". Thanks for making my wait just a little bit better. I trust that you and all those you care about are well. There is an old, old saying here in the states "knock on wood".

@@Ivorydour Thank you and that wish is shared by me and mine for you and yours as well. You know my point was not to dis Lil Cumin. Though l can assure you if Kobato Miku had had success in that attempt l am sure l never would have gotten to be one of her biggest fans. And for no more than l would have heard a second or two of her previous music and it would have had no effect good or bad on me and l would have moved on. To me it is still a total matter of luck l came across Thrill while surfing the net. And all Thrill did was peak my interest just enough that the next MV l came across Alone l had to check it out. And that is all it took. Stay safe and stay well. Very best regards.

@@VladimirChupin forgive my para phrasing and l was referring to Derha Derha Dun. George plays it on a ukulele in the Anthology TV show. But it is just the thought that counts. And your Alice refernce jogged my memory.BTW I read lyrics to Gion-cho. All l can say is they are a little more explicit than the typical translation offered on KZfaq for instance. I hear you folks have it under control where you are. California is doing the best here but it is all relative and all sad. Hope you and yours are well. Best line from your reference is Queen: Faster, faster, faster! Alice: l am running as fast as l can and l am not going anywhere. Queen: Stupid child. Don't you know it takes running as fast as you possibly can just to remain in the very same place!

Hi Rich. Imho, it's not an opportunity to pass on. Those small, intimate shows _are_ something special. Great crowds and _so_ much energy. Then, there's the potential energy level at a BAND-MAID arena show 8-) I'm hoping that if (when) they get opportunity to play those arena shows, a band, called something like 'The Small Pigeons,' might find time for an occasional, short notice, intimate club set. As per you've put together yet another excellent slide show. Congrats! It is really nice to see a band grow in front of you in this case BAND-MAID, i think you appreciate them more for what they are as a group and as individuals. I do wish they were further up the food chain cos the girls deserve it, it's obvious they put everything into what they do and i love them all the more for doing so. "BAND-MAID just fabulous." @@_BAND-MAID_fan They've conquered the world already, we may surely say so. I saw them being #10 in Google Play Market, with my own two eyes. And what's more important, they don't take hostages in their onward march. Very few people who hear them, are left unmoved. They are growing slower on some than on others, but if you've heard BAND-MAID, eventually you will be dominated.

@@VladimirChupin True. They've got a significant (and growing) worldwide fanbase, and yes, they've made some serious waves. So yes. They're already HUGE. -It was definitely nice to see them hitting those international charts. Maybe, I'm just greedy, but imho, they could/should be even bigger in Japan, and as for the rest of the world, as yet, they don't get close to the media recognition they deserve. On this one point, I concur with SelectCircle: In a perfect world, they should _already_ be doing international stadium tours.

@@_BAND-MAID_fan Their management may seem slow and inactive, but should say, the most important part is that they support the band, and don't try to squeeze every last ounce of energy from them. In order to be creative, you need some free time. Miku said that she had to work on lyrics during the tours, always, because the release schedule was tight. They are conscious of this, and with CONQUEROR they tried to distribute the load more evenly over time. They've got enough money to buy them flats in Tokyo, and I should say, that's enough to have a flat, and you can dispense with having a Lear jet. Stadiums are nice, but not if it burns you out.

@@VladimirChupin methodical and patient is more like it. And they have not made one backward step yet. Their goal is not so much being better or as good as Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber. Their goal is a massive cult following around the globe and in every language, culture, religion, nationality and ethnicity. And this is why it appears slow to many who would like to see them go head to head with the above or even the wonderful entertainment group Babymetal. There is no competition. And there is little reason to even try. It is not obvious apparently to many but punk and aspects of what was once called the counter culture live in this band. Just one of the many things l really enjoy about them and a very savvy small pigeon. Regards.

Hi, wave. Depending on who owns the specific photo, there probably wouldn't be any fee for such private (or public) usage. There is one obvious potential caveat: Unofficial, commercial merchandise production. That'd definitely require some sort of commercial arrangement with management. I've got no idea what fees may be incurred. Btw: I'd love to see any completed artwork. Please, consider leaving a link somewhere in the comments section. Another triumph!. It's funny because I always feel conflicted when I watch these tributes because for years Japan was a country where people regularly died at work from lack of sleep or over work, like they were trying to punish themselves for the second world war and so when we watch modern Japanese women projecting our own culture back at us on stage in one snapshot and then see them doing something obviously Japanese or at least uncommon in our culture, I at least and perhaps I'm the only one am left bouncing around between feeling like I'm becoming quite familiar with them and a second later feeling a great distance. On an interview I watched recently Miku said that she had never been to Saiki's house and Saiki doesn't seem in a hurry to have her there and yet I always thought that these were two members of the band that spent some time with each other. Perhaps Dorian its time for you to take the next step and publish an article about the girls. I would like to know basic stuff like how far apart they live from each other. Do they get together just to rehearse and do concerts or are any of them close friends with each other. Saiki says that she has 5 friends up from 3 the year before. I'm sure that you could do something interesting. Youve got the pictures now we just need a few words to go with them.

On the subject you raised it is not quite what you think. If l remember Saiki had just purchased a condo or apartment in Tokyo and told the interviewer and Miku wistfully said she would like to come over. Saiki immediately turns the famous death stare at Miku and informs her Don't you dare. Miku, nonplussed, continued you know l could just sit on the sidewalk and you will have to come out or in sooner or later and to which Saiki said no and continued the stare. I believe if any of the other three had said the same thing to Saiki the response would have been similar. This was Saiki saying hey man give me a break. I spend enough time with you. I need a little me time. These ladies can often be brutally frank with each other because of their friendship and love they have for each other. They cap and poke fun at each other at times just like most westerners did in high school and college while hanging with your friends. I had a great friend and if you were to walk up on us at times you would swear we were getting ready to fight and try and kill each other when nothing could be further from the truth. My good friend asks to borrow five dollars way back in High school. I tell him what do l look like? The bank? Aw, come on man. What's your problem? You man. You are a worthless no pay. We were the best of friends and a few minutes later l give him the fiver. Best friends but not if you heard us and didn't know. I think these ladies have a relationship much like that.

@@sacluvsBM yes I get your point and that's the interview I was talking about. They all seem to have bought houses lately so I guess all their hard work is paying off. Housing is quite expensive in Japan. We saw a little bit of Akane's house recently I think ( made of wood). ? I don't know I see so much stuff I get mixed up and that's why id like someone like Dorian to set the record straight. But you are right ofcourse, when you know people well you can pretend that you are angry or whatever because you have that intimate knowledge of each other especially iff you grew up together or spent years working together you know who each other really are. Don't know where you live but hope you are virus free.

love the l'i cumin shots and akane and misa with the shades right after that but what group is shown at 20 seconds in? is it akane on the far left? dorian digs into the wayback file once again! we love it. i think thru the years my favorite maid outfits still are the red ones they used in thrill.so cute and the only shorter dress misa wore

@@DMiyash248 thanks-you and dorian seem to have all the answers. i thought that was akane on the left and didn't recognize mincho till you pointed it out.checked out the link and picked a video called kana-boon.those little bear hats that mincho and a-chan are wearing are so funny and cute-you guys have more cool trivia than i can believe!

@@_BAND-MAID_fan i had a thought i forgot to mention but if and when the band maid trivia slows down[ maybe never!] a lot of us maidiacs are also lovebitten by lovebites! amazing power metal group with no holes in it-there is a treasure trove of info on them such as past bands-miho and haruna's old band destrose had 23 members in 8 years that all went on to other bands-some great and some not so. and guitarists midori and miyako's numerous previous bands as well. don't know if you like them or not but it's an idea.millions of us in the usa would love it-thanks for listening

hey dorian-i have a question about our mystery woman known as misa. you seem to have a lot of inside info on the maids that no one else has. i want to respect her privacy as she does not want to talk about herself or draw attention to her other than her spectacular bass playing. but about a year ago i got a tip from a comment that she could possibly be the daughter of an 80's japanese vocalist named mioko yamaguchi. she is 61 years old and still active so the age would possibly be right. here is a link to check her out. note the amazing resemblance to misa! the music is beautiful and very calm and soothing and i listen to her when i am in that type of musical mood. she actually came out with a new album last year and i thiought i would get your input since you seem to have a lot of answers.kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ZquDrbqL2MfbgXU.html

That intriguing suggestion has cropped up before. - I've already done a couple of searches, and besides timeline and resemblance, I do think I may have discovered another parallel: Mioko and MISA seem to share an identical attitude towards familial privacy :-) Thanks, for the link. 👍

@@_BAND-MAID_fan yeah she actually has a channel i'm subscribed to but she does not seem to do replies other than the little hearts for liking a comment. but i have NOT asked the misa question as i am intrigued by her but also am not overly nosy and don't want to piss anyone off! but they do look a lot alike.eh? did you like the music? very soothing. they are definitely well entitled to their privacy.

@@thedocofrock1890 Yes. I like her unique style. It's decidedly addictive. And clearly, she's an electronica wizard. -Especially, with the authentic analog stuff. NOTE: Her bandmate, Hideki is pretty amazing,too. -Imho, if you like synth music (Kraftwerk, Tomita, Tangerine Dream/Schulze and Carlos, Laurie Spiegel, Space, Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, etc) it's also well worth checking out Hideki's 'YMO' and 'Logic System.' stuff. -That is, ofc, if you haven't done so, already :-)

@@_BAND-MAID_fan you keep coming up with amazing stuff. i am now watching ymo synth drum kit with hideki matsutake. how did you happen to find out he was mioko's band mate? one thing i can't seem to find are any actual videos or live performances of mioko and i would love to see anything with her live. she intrigues me
