Japan have so many talented band. Maximum the hormone are crazy!!! Band Maid can play their instruments so well. The bass is amazing. Their sound is a great mix of hard rock/metal/poppunk. Next bandmaid should be "Dice", great sound and show their instruments talent. You should also checkout "on set", the track is instrumental but damn... they can play.

I first heard of them in February. In the past five months they've leapfrogged over every other band I love to become my all-time favorite band! I now have all six of their albums, and the bluray of their World Domination Tour showed up last week. This concert is soooooo good!!! STOP!!! Band Maid is highly addictive. You might be able to handle their videos but once you get into live performances you will hopelessly lost...like me. Proceed with great caution. Both live (Feb. 14th, 2020) versions of "Domination" and "Freedom" are my personal favorites. "Play" live was the one that made me go "holy s#@&". Can't stop listening and I'm 62. I haven't been this excited about a band since I first heard Van Halen back in the late 70's.

Now it is July and my reaction is: the same as it was the first time I heard them in February. Enjoy your journey. I now own all their music and I'm still blown away every time I replay them. The only comparison is when I first saw deep purple live in '74, Mark 2 and they played child in time. 46 years later and I have been renewed.

Like most here i fell down the rabbit hole, about 8 months ago. 6 CDs and 3 t-shirts later they are possibly my favorite band of all time, and I'm 46 so I've seen a few. As good as thrill is and it really got the ball rolling for them, their music about seven years later now is absolutely mind blowing. Domination or Freedom from their 2020 Valentine's day concert in Shibuya will absolutely floor you. Best rock band on the planet, bar none.

"Thrill" was one of their earliest songs, and their first music video. To really get a feel for what the band's about, you should watch either "Blooming" or "Domination (live)." Both are recent tracks that better show what the band is about.

If someone hasn't mentioned it already or might mention it later. Really the next song in the evolution should probably be the song, Alone by them. It's's the first song that their record label allowed them to write compose and produce themselves. Most will tell you live is where it's at with these ladies. And they are an amazing live band. But they do have a few music videos worth checking out as well. Like I said Alone, Daydreaming, Bubble, Blooming and Endless Story. Those are great songs to start with. Then live, Domination, Choose Me and Freedom.from the recently released February 14th 2020 DVD concert from this year.These ladies are the real deal and you will not be disappointed ! No two songs really sound that much alike. And they have The uncanny ability to mix multiple genres of music in the same song. And it works so incredibly flawlessly !

I suggest Play Onset and Domination, but there are so many more. The ones I suggested and others are live versions. They are even better live.

I just love that "WTF!?!?!" moment on first time BAND-MAID reaction videos.

You just witnesses the very first song of a band that for the last 7 years had released over 90 songs, all better than the previous (if that's an exaggeration it's the works smallest exaggeration) and are in the opinion of this 64 year old Rock fan, the greatest rock band ever ... No band has this level of consistently great songs and band members who each have levels of talent and personality that make them each superstars in their own right (ie. Even the Beatles had their main superstars, Band-Maid there are no weak links. Even Miku, the backup vocalist and rhythm guitar player who only started to learn guitar when she formed the band is a master showperson who writes most of the lyrics and is known to native Japanese speakers as a unique talent in song writing, writing in a Japanese style that is both hard to write and sing, but she seems to do it effortlessly while the least singer, Saki, is equally able to effortlessly sing that style. And the three across musicians? All multi instrumentalists with music degrees, the guitarist being the main music worry and arranger and is a damn riff machine!!! While the drummer and bassist are just beasts. The best rhythm section in the business with the ability to go solo overdrive at a second notice. This is a band that's really in the Beatles, The Who, Zeppelin, Queen level ... But even more consistent in every aspect IMO. You will get over their 'gimmick' (all female Japanese band wearing maid outfits) in a few songs and start to appreciate what they can do (especially live!!) And I'm sure you're going to agree that even if you don't think they are the best band ever, they certainly deserve to be in the running.

Be prepared, this will lead you down a rabbit hole leading to some great female led Japanese bands. Like others have said check out Lovebites, Doll$Boxx, and (my personal favorite of the bunch) Mary's Blood. As far as Japanese metal in general goes you MUST check out Loudness. Skip the their early glam stuff. Don't get me wrong I love me some hair metal but it doesn't represent what they sound like now. My recommendation would be to check out the song The Power of Truth from their Eve to Dawn record.

If you want to see another crazy talented Japanese band you should check out a live video of Dir en Grey. The vocalist is insanely talanted

As with Lovebites, it is hard to find a bad song in their catalogue. Band Maid, is all down to Miku rhythm guitar. She used to work in a Maid Cafe´ and thought the idea of cute maids playing rock music would be fun. She found Kanami, lead guitar by studying online profiles. Kanami, either knew Akane, drums or Misa bass, who intern knew the other one. As Miku, was not so confident that her voice was good enough for lead vocal, they auditioned and chose Saiki. This MV saved Band Maid. They had been together for a while but their first CD did not take off in Japan. Band Maid, were far better known internationally than at home until fairly recently. With the interest and popularity of this video, they decided to carry on performing.

The best thing about Band-Maid Thrill, is that it sit about number in their best tracks, and it's still good! MV: Dice, Don't you tell me, Rinne, Puzzle Blooming, Real existence, non fiction days. Live: Domination, Freedom, Onset, Wonderland, Play, moratorium. Album: Rock in me.
