There is no way she will ever be forgotten, she put together the best band on the planet of whose popularity just keeps gaining more and more, her tenacity, determination ,and cuteness won't allow her to be forgotten just like the overall talent of this once in a life time band . My personal opinion Band Maid will be just as prolific in the coming future as some other bands from the past. They have influenced a lot of others already. Again it is just my opinion

I think Akane has maxed out her character skill level at 50 in this world and is just waiting for the music industry to put out a DLC so she can max out her character again. She is just grinding away at the moment slaying all that stand before her. She is a once in a lifetime musician for sure.

The quality of this album is just astounding. Been listening to this almost everyday since relase and i'm not tired of it in the slightest; in fact, it gets better every time. How tho? I don't fricking know dude. There is so much put into EVERY song here that i legit can't put my feelings into words. But the craziest part of it, is that we are probably getting an equal or better quality album in 2022. Just Band Maid doing their thing, a never ending miracle themselves.

Mr Mear, what impressed me in a recent interview on KZfaq that I saw Konami indicated that she already had stacks of pre-written songs ready to go it reminded me of the scene from Amadeus, where Salieri is reading Mozart's work and he is informed by Mozart's wife that they are all Originals.

What is CRAZY to me is: WHO is the most talented lady in this group? Everybody says another name... Put ONE of these ladies in ANY other band and they would be the "star" or the "freaking talent", i thank MIKU so much she put all of them into ONE group. Akane and MISA are the best rhythm duo i know (alone with these two i could go on with MANY things, but i wanna keep it short), Kanami is a GREAT composer and her creativity + emotional way of playing makes her special, MIKU is an entertainer through and through and can adapt to EVERY situation and SAIKI has an unique voice + an aura that draws you in. No one is THE PILLAR of this band, they are all equal and adding so much with their talent, their freaking hard work, their character and their love towards music, to each other and towards their fans... If i had not discovered this band years ago, i had lost my love to music! Thanks Band-Maid! Greetings from Germany and enjoy the album and other music from Band-Maid Ryan, your playlist grows ;)

Saiki knows that you know that you can't hold Band-Maid because you will forget about her one day due to a Black Hole, you know? Giovanni - it probably took me a dozen listens to fully appreciate this absolute NOVEL of a song. The sheer amount of awesomeness that's packed into that 4+ minutes is astounding. I said it before but few bands can make a 4 minute song seem like it lasts 2-3x as long as it actually is. MISA's bass in the second verse is.... I don't really have the appropriate vocabulary to describe it other than FILTHY. That absolute PERFECT bass tone.... does things to me and those sick AS FZCK riffs she's dropping.... yeah, same as you... hair standing on end, every time I listen to it. I also particularly love the change in vocal melody in the last verse/stanza with Saiki slowing down and drawing out the vocals. Sublime. This very well could be Kanami's masterpiece. This song should impress even Dream Theater...LOL. Honkai - that first pinch harmonic - [chef's kiss]. Akane's beat and MISA's bass drive this song and provide such a lush canvas for Saiki and Kanami to go all Jackson Pollock all over it. And once again... MISA's bass in the second verse and especially her little solo after/during Kanami's amazing solo just completely melts my face every time. I, honest to God, believe that is the one of the top rock and roll bassists playing currently. The fact that she writes most of her own melodies as well as she doesn't play to the click track with the rest of the band just puts her so high on my list of musicians. Then you listen to what she actually plays and complexity, melodiousness, and the way she knows when to step forward and when to pull back is just amazing. This song really demonstrates all of her ability as does this entire album for Akane as well as the entire band. Unseen World is, hands down, one of THE BEST rock albums to come out in several years. When you listen to it in its entirety in one sitting it is just amazing what they accomplished during Covid. It highlights not only their indisputable musical talent but their extraordinary creativity in song writing and composing. You can pick any aspect of any song and find sheer brilliance... Miku's lyrics are a feat in their own right and giving them to Saiki to breathe them to life with the best she has EVER sounded. Her voice on this album blew me away. We had a hint of it during the 2019 tour and the Shibuya okyu-ji but she really stepped up her game big time for this album same as the other members.. and honestly impressed me the most on this album with her growth. This album is seminal in my mind. There is not a single bad song on this album, just some that are better than others...and that in and of itself is an extremely high bar. The simple fact that they can EFFORTLESSLY switch from hard rock, to stadium rock, to prog rock/metal, to lush heartfelt ballads and retain the unmistakable Band-Maid sound is what truly incredible about this band. Miku was right. Band-Maid is its own genre. :)

This is my favorite section of the album. "Giovanni", "Honkai", and "Black Hole" are where they get really experimental and just let loose with all the creativity they have. I love how outside the norm the songs get and just the general feel of them. It's like Kanami decided to let loose and make the outside-the-box songs that were in her heart. "Without Holding Back" isn't on the base album I have, but it can be thrown in there, too. Watching them play it on the instrumental Blu-Ray is truly amazing. Even when they're in a white sound stage basically shooting a music video, they're still having a blast with it. Miku dances around all and interacts with the other members the whole time.

Giovanni is such an interesting song. They start with the chorus after the intro and every verse is completely different. Even the purely instrumental version is super dense. I don't know how it works, but I love it! I don't think people expect it from them, but they keep pushing themselves to do things they couldn't do before all the time (even physically), which I really respect. Unseen World really is their best album. I always have high expectations of them, but they exceeded them with this one by far. The drawing turned out pretty well 😄 Kanami actually has pretty big eyes, so that works out too 😆

It would have been great, but the band has really grown with the down time and the fanbase prob got way bigger with the online concerts.... I would have been lucky to go to one concert in person, but through online I got to see all of them, so BM really made amazing lemonade with what they were dealt... Cheers to greatness 🤘🤘

About the way they compose songs: The impression I got from interviews is that they do it mostly digitally. So they edit parts and send them to each other. They don't really jam much I think, although the extended intro/solo parts they do live often sound like the result of a jam session. Coincidentally that's an approach that really works well in a pandemic... Kanami apparently doesn't care if something is humanly possible to play when she starts out and then they have to bring it down to a level they can actually record. Misa writes most of the bass parts on her own nowadays (since Conqueror iirc), but if there is something specific Kanami wants the bass to do she still does it herself.

Ok, I watched it. First: your drawing is superb! I was a bit afraid for Akane at first, but you got her right in the end. Much talented, really. Then the album ... I think each of their four full albums are really really great but UNSEEN WORLD is the one that gives me the feeling they did exactly what they wanted, with total artistic freedom. And it is definitly a masterpiece, I have no doubt about it, a milestone. I'll still be listening to it in ten years and I will still ear things for the first time. Btw, there's another band who will soon release an album made with total artistic control and freedom: Gacharic Spin. In more than ten years of existence, it will be the first album produced by themselves - and it's logically an eponymous one. The first two singles (Mindset and I Wish I) are extremely promising. Of course it is totally different from Band-Maid but it will be very interesting too.

Excellent!. I guess for Miss Kanami Tono it must be a blessing that she can compose anything that comes to her mind knowing that her bandmates can help her refine it into a masterpiece... Every Fucking Time... What a great idea to listen to this music and see the evolution of your drawing at the same time. This last stint has been tremendous. I can't imagine any other band right now that can put these four songs together in a row, so different, so perfect. Over time Honkai has earned the spot for best song on Unseen World, an album as dense as the Bandmaidium (a new element that some maidiacs say it exists deep within the brightest stars). PS: In the web magazine Raijin Rock (highly recommended) there is a review article written about UW. It's entitled "BAND-MAID: The Furies Unleashed." I can't think of a more suitable comparison.

That was one of the best album reactions I've seen, and you even threw in an absolutely amazing drawing. Respect. It's so great to watch someone who gets it. I don't know how someone can listen to these compositions and think, "That's a pretty good song," though I guess we all want different things from music. What I want from my rock songs is pretty simple: I want cool shit. And no one puts more cool shit into each song than Band-Maid. I'm pretty sure there's more cool shit in "Honkai"'s bridge alone than in the entirety of some good rock albums. This is the music I've wanted my entire life.

I think people who dont appreciate how good the compositions are, are people who know nothing at all about music- not even the slightest clue what makes an amazing song and why its amazing. All they know is they like a song or not- to them baby shark is 'better' than giovanni if its catchier and thats it. I feel sad for people with so little ear or knowledge for music.

How many riffs are in this song? Kanami: Yes This album is so musically dense and complex, I'm at a loss to name a current artist that writes such music. Every time I listen to it I find new things hidden in their music, this normally only happens when I listen to something like Beethoven.

More peeks into the fascinating Unseen World of Band-Maid (and to some extent, Ryan Mear!) On every song we're witnessing another evolution of Band-Maid right before our very eyes and ears. Band-Maid brings light, smiles and energy to our lives and is, imo, a world treasure! "I've seen your world. I've been in your world. Never take me out of your world, Band-Maid!" Thanks for your continued journey with the Maids, Ryan! BTW - I'd probably by a T-shirt of your Maid-art, but doubt I could afford the original, should you decide to part with it.

Hahaha, after listening to this album when I notice the comedy of scrolling down in Spotify and see: "more like Band Maid", then I smirk in silence and laugh hysterically aloud at the realisation of it being a non-statement. Such a thing just doesn't exist. This band arrived at a stage where I'm thinking, is there any point of listening to anything else in life? Ever again? That's being expressed after 25 years of living with music in a wide variety and depth….I just have no answers anymore, language lost its use in regarding describing these five musicians and what they're creating! Pure artistry! Respect to Ryan for delving into such depths in Band Maid territory and meeting all of us there. Aside from my own collection of all their works, I only listen to Band Maid in Mr Mear's virtual company! ✌️

Love the drawing Ryan. When I was trying to decide if I was being honest about how good this band was, Alice in Chains was one of the bands I thought of. Don't think the maids quite pinch them for me yet, but not by much AND many of my most loved bands have many tracks I dont care for. The Maids have like three? I think.. out of how many? haha

I wonder, if we could see an accurate drum score of what Akane is doing, we would go: "Oh, so that's what she is doing". But it is not easy to work out just by listening.

Black Hole is the fastest song from Band-Maid. In the end it has 220 bpm which is as fast as the fastest songs of DragonForce. Akane had a lot of trouble with it during rehearsals and said to Kanami, "I can't do it". Kanami just said, "Yes, you can". and the result proves her right. Now she wants to compose a song with 230 bpm.

Kanami said in an interview I read that being on covid lock down contributed to the 'madness'... my word not hers lol said she wrote A LOT of riffs. but they couldn't see each other and had to do zoom meetings and sent demos back and forth. they all got good gear and had to do a lot of the parts individually. then sent the to each other. kanami arranged mostly with input from everybody. Its a good interview translated from Japanese. ill try to find it.

Hopefully, you got the CD with the DVD instrumentals. Giovanni's vocals kind of drown out the guitars. I listen to the instrumental version all the time. The DVD is also an awesome tool if you want to learn the individual parts. As it has statics close-ups of each member.

Do you get it now? Again, this is a monster album. It's like a roller coaster from start to finish. Consider reacting to Dragon Cries, About Us since these two songs are very different as well.

By listening to UW with you, I was able to reaffirm the incomparableness of this album. However, there are still some wonderful songs left. Other than that, "Glory" is worth listening to.

Drawing is excellent. You're one talented dude. Also love your reactions because you respond in the same way and in the same places (for the most part) that I do, and that makes it fun to watch because it's like I'm listening again for the first time. I must say, this wasn't (isn't? yet?) my favorite album to listen to - although I never said I didn't like it that's for sure. Manners is for me as it was for you - one of my favorite songs ever - and songs like that, and some of the power ballads and straight ahead rockers are still my favorites, and there are more of them on World Domination and Just Bring It albums. Could also have to do with the fact that those are the songs I heard first by them, and their best concert video is still Zepp Tokyo. Do yourself a favor and watch it in one sitting. Faves from that show that you can find on bilibili - that you haven't reacted do (I think) are Turn Me On and Fate. I also prefer the version of "Play" that is in that show to the other versions.

Seriously man, is there any way to get my hands on a scan of that drawing? I want it as a desktop! Ready to pay a little just for the scan. How about a patreon perk, or something? OK, focus.. Giovanni is my favorite song on the album. You HAVE TO see the video instrumental of it. You just don't realiz how complex it is until you see it. Saiki is awesome on it, but without her voice, you actually realize how insane the stuff kanami is playing is.

I guess all that's left is Youth which was on the special edition and the non album single About Us. The single doesn't really belong on the album thematically though. Then you'll have gone through their latest work.

Thanks brother! Been away for a while but been quietly observing... Mostly withholding my envy! The progression of the drawing is stunning! My talent is still an undiscovered mystery and seeing the sketch evolve is truly inspiring. Holding it in the foreground while on your Band Maid journey is a blast! (Sure I missed it from a previous thread, but is the sketch pencil or chalk?) Thanks for sharing!
