There are others. Jinjer is like that. Opeth, Korn, Disturbed, Snarky Puppy, Linkin Park... Honestly people who lament how shallow and repetitive music has become, and how it just doesn't have the depth, emotion, or complexity that it used to, are just listening to the wrong music. In every era, there are, and were, a few groups or songs that produced absolutely sublime magic... and thousands and thousands of pieces of forgettable dross. When you tune into an Oldies station, or a Classic Rock station or even an 80's or 90's station, you're not hearing a balanced, unbiased, or random sampling of music from that era; you're hearing the absolute best of the best. The truly amazing classics with tons of staying power because they have meaning _and_ complexity _and_ listenability _and_ technique. Those older genres have the advantage that knowledgeable people, combined with attrition of popularity of things that are just a bop and don't have any real staying power, have filtered through all the junk so you can just listen to the true gems. Modern music still has those gems... but nobody has curated them for you yet, so you have to listen to everything and find the beauty for yourself (although reaction channels, I believe, are vastly accelerating the process of filtering through what's out there, as the next evolution of music journalism). I would argue passionately that there are far _more_ absolutely incredible musicians, bands, and songs coming out every year than ever before. It's easier than ever for someone with natural talent to hear many styles, find the style they love, learn it, and then reach an audience. There are _several_ artists alive right now who are widely considered "the best of all time" in their instrument or genre, and for good reason. I'm glad Dirty Loops has given you hope that "real music" is "coming back", but I promise you, if you go exploring, it's out there and always has been. Real music has never gone anywhere, and though it evolves and changes over time, which can sometimes leave people behind due to nostalgia or an unwillingness to explore new genres and sounds, if you know where to look, there are _amazing_ things happening now, just as there were in the 10's, and the 00's, and the 90's, and the 80's, and the 70's, and on through history.
