The fact that Bandai is aware that fans want the X3 but won't release it is giving me flashbacks to Nintendo and Mother 3. Maybe the number 3 is cursed or something.

I recall they actually copied some other fans' sprites, too, for the VB. It's at once flattering that they pay attention to fan work that much, but not so flattering they don't bother crediting or contacting them when and if they use their work...

I love your charts and use them all the time, but I will say that that bandai's choice to put the name under the sprite is something I prefer, especially in the non-colour devices where it can be really hard to tell who's who.

Clearly, that position should be yours. The heads at Bandai probably don't know about this, or they know and don't want to make changes... But now, we all know and so do they. Well they do say that they'll "steal" everything we do with their IP if they like it, in the same disclaimer that tells us not to send them unrequested content ideas. You finally reached the ultimate goal of being a non Japanese Digimon content creator, you got them to copy your work without suing you.

I think the star wars community also has a lot of official art being copied from fan art. In general its usually individual employees. They are paid to make new artwork by the company so they can't just copy stuff that exists in house so they go into the fan community to grab easy models. The bosses are less likely to notice and think they are paying for new work. The individual doing the copying won't credit the inspiration because they are supposed to be creating something new. So its usually just some underexperienced or over pressured employee trying to cut corners and get things done rather than a company effort or purposeful reaching out to the community.

Welp, your move Bandai! The DM20 was my big break into Digimon and I constantly referenced your charts (and videos) to get everything right! My fondest memory is with the X, trying to complete the library and I screenshot the chart so that I could mark off each evolution I had gotten. You've been such a big help to us all!

I think this is "Kinda" great, they're listening and paying attention, and at the end of the day we all love and care about the IP. I think if they could communicate with you like an official ambassador it would not only but helpful but incredibly productive, but corporate will be corporate at the end of the day.

Honestly I feel like Bandai shouldn't have just reached out for a collab, but rather should have offered you a job as part of their Digimon team, since you have been doing so much for Digimon v-pets and the community surrounding them.

i use your site religously its my go too when im looking anything up on a digimon vpet. Also your discord between your youtube, discord, and website you are the one stop shop for all of my vpet needs. Bandai could 1 for 1 copy your work and it wouldnt feel the same with out the community backing it.

The Digimon department is probably on a shoestring budget as is over there at Bandai Namco. With that in mind, you can somewhat understand why they are unwilling to credit some fans for their work or even commission them for that work, as they are afraid of what they might have to pay in order for that to happen.

I remember joking about it or something similar on your Discord server, saying Bandai should hire you or pay you for helping them. Ive only recently started playing digimon(CS/HM), but evo charts just seem confusing most of the time.

It's insane how badly managed company Bandai actually is

Its kind of annoying that they'll copy fan works without credit when they could easily work with the fanbase and improve on all the parts of their ip that they fail in or need improvement on, for example the translation for CS, HM, and Survive are so horribly mistranslated that they're not even playable without a fan translation to fix their fuck ups. They could also stop removing Sistermon Noir, guns and nuns are nothing new in American media so why is this still an issue when you have many other religious figures in digimon with no backlash? Their probably alot more things to fix that I haven't thought of at the moment.
