JSU really at a disadvantage, playing SU then TXSU the following week. Whatever songs that they get over Southern with, they won't get the same effect against Texas Southern. They almost have to have a whole separate brand new book for The Ocean

At 18:03 the trumpet coming in too early was a result of the person conducting the band. His ques were really confusing as an outsider looking in so I can only imagine how confusing they’d be for someone with the adrenaline of the moment.

Love those Sonic Boom cymbals...you can always see them flash during performances to the beat of the music. Don't know what they use to clean them with, but they SHINE more than other bands. They really have great moves! ❤

Never have I EVER, seen so much intimidation come from a home teams band in my life!! ASU played scared and based on the catalog, very unenthusiastic, much to that disinterest. My son plays in JSU trumpet section and his best friend he played with in high school, plays with ASU and right now, it's hard to keep it together for his boy after that massacre he had to endure!!! When KSU put that power on them a few weeks ago in the band battle in the gym, I KNEW blood was about to be splattered!! 40+ deep trumpets now and THEY NOT HOLDING BACK NO MO!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪💪🎶🎵

Depends on the year. JSU hasn't really kept a consistent trumpet section like that, so in years where they weren't strong they would used them to blend rather than focusing on having screamers.

In my opinion, Most HBCU bands will not play their best during their HC games. The week leading up to the HC game is filled with festivities, and the home school band will probably have played every day for many events. It is possible that band members are tired and worn out from the week’s activities. Other bands might not play well during their HC games. IJS....give grace.
