Trevor, a troubled teenager with a notorious past, becomes a pariah at his high school after staging a fake bomb threat the previous year. While this incident makes him feared by parents and teachers and largely avoided by his peers, Trevor finds solace among the "Trogs," a group of fellow outcasts. As tensions rise and violent incidents increase, Trevor is frequently blamed despite his innocence. One teacher sees beyond his reputation and casts him in a controversial school play about shootings, hoping to offer him redemption. However, the situation spirals out of control when a group of students devises a deadly plan to bring guns to school, threatening to unleash chaos in the cafeteria.
