Hi everyone, thank you for watching once again and i hope you like the video?! This is one of the toughest reviews I have done in a while, they're so close and both are wonderful in my opinion. in the end a lot of it depends on your own use case and weather or not you want to be a bit more flashy or more subdued. So what do you guys listen to most? Let me know in the comments :D

Like you said in your video review, heavy hitting music tend to make the M5 move from its position when played at high volume. Having said that, i quite understand. Personally, i like pop , r n b, naija music and some form of new age and instrumental music. I actually thought b & o has a purpose built stand for the M5. But, however it is, a known issue always has a solution. Thanks for your effort.

@@albertokito yeah at mild to medium volume it'll be fine, but crank it and both of you will dance. but it's fixable, it just should come out of the box ''fixed'' imo. The sound signature is so nice on the M5, I love it but lack space :p

I just received the M5 speaker today and I am absolutely blown away. I'm listening to songs I've had for ages in a different way now, coming from (Bose sound link 3) and if anyone is looking to buy it based off on sound quality alone this will not disappoint you. I am pleasantly surprised.

@@Mikipedia thanks. This video was actually one of the ones I watched before making the purchase so thanks with helping me make my mind up. There are very few KZfaq videos on this fabulous speaker, so maybe you could make more if you have the time

I now have 4 videos up on the M5 :p I'll have to contend with some different products so I'll be doing more of those soon. Still have to compare the beolab 18's to the beolab 17's and upload some Eclipse and Harmony videos. Busy times ahead :D Thanks for watching and commenting!

With all the praises given to Beoplay M5. No one mentioned that this speaker is NOT meant for TV's external speaker!! There are 4 setbacks if you want to use it for TV external speaker; 1) when paired by Bluetooth, there will be a delay in sync with the video from the TV. Also the TV will pause due to interruption from the surrounding. 2) When Bluetooth is disconnected (TV switched off) there will be an irritating "dang-dang" chime from M5, until the next pairing. 3) You can connect this M5 speaker by optical/analogue input from the TV but there is no volume control from the TV's remote control. Volume control is by turning the top of M5. 4) M5 takes about 2 minutes to boot up, therefore you need to switch on M5 before the TV's.

Hello, I work for B&O. We know about the vibration issue on the M5. Just hook it up via the app and set it up to Wall (-3dB) or Corner mode (-6dB).

I understand the suggestion, but just release firmware that makes it standard like that, it's been like this for ever. I am also unsure how that would impact the sound signature as you'll be taking out a fair bit of bass?!

Alejandro Hernández-León excellent, you might be able to answer a question I have... Can the M5 speaker be used as left and right speakers in a television setup? I am considering purchasing a Sony A9 Master series where the screen is the speaker. So the screen can act as a centre. Also, if you can do this can the M5's then be used as pure music speakers with the tv off? I'll also be purchasing a Apple TV as well if that means anything. Thank you.

@@kurjan1 I am very unsure, it *might* work if you diy cables as they basically want stereo input. I doubt it'll be plug and play and kinda very prototypical...

@@kurjan1 you can't do that, unfortunately Beoplay M5 is part of the "old" generation of B&O speakers and doesn't support a stereo-pair setup.

For the M5, is it possible if i can just press one button and it plays my favorite radio station instantly without a need of my mobile phone ?

yes, select it once and press the top of the M5.

The Beosound 1 was updated not all that long ago with google voice assistent and other upgrades. What would you need them to be updated for? There will be newer products as some point obviously but I don't know if those will replace these or will be in addition to these.

Miki... thanks for your review. But, it seems like you cannot really fully decide on where you stand about the two products. Actually, you should have just picked one. However, i think I like the M5 though. Anyways, thanks....

I can't and can, it's a hard one. If the Beoplay M5 was heavier and didn't vibrate what ever it would sit on a high volumes it would've been the clear winner. The Beosound 1 is stunning though :D

Are there leds lights in the volume dots on top of the m5 ?

yes, but they don't stay on the whole time, only when changing volume and shortly after.

@@NguyenTienDung22 open up a support case with B&O, maybe they changed something or maybe it's faulty, either way they will be able to tell you quicker than I can as I don't have an M5 here anymore. I am doing it from memory, so I think i am right but not 100% sure :p

Hello I really like the video thanks, I have an Beoplay A6 and it has a failure so B&O warranty offers to change it for another A6 or for two M5. I really don’t know the M5. In your experience What option whould you take?

I like em both really, I would take 2 M5's but only because there is two of them. The M5's are really good speakers and I like them a lot, but it's up to you in the end, neither choice is a bad one honestly :)

Does the M5 work with Tidal ?

Yes it does,either through the B&O app or tidal app and then ap2/cc it. Hope that helps?

It’s the speaker that is ‘dancing’. Not the table resonating. Meaning increase the weight somehow and the dancing will stop.

both would help obviously, but if I put my own weight on the table the resonating stops. So it's both really, but other speakers don't do it on the same table.
