It is really disheartening to listen to you both talk about how chaotic it is to own the latest products from this illustrious brand! I hope they listen and shape up! My personal experience is that unless you are technically apt, these products are impossible to use due to the constant inconsistencies and changes! I remember the days of picking up a remote and firing up a masterlink system. It worked every time!

Level: I mocked up a grill using the covers from car speakers making the five drivers look a little like a classic ghetto blaster. Maybe not a marketable idea, like no one would buy one but there is plenty of scope for designs beyond just pictures and art on cloth covers. Recently I tried to test out what kind of stereo you get from the Level. Most of the distinct clearly all left or all right ends up on the centre speaker with only sometimes hearing the separate vocals or instruments separated and them only if not much further than arms lenght. Still I would like to use a single speaker as a "sound bar" to a laptop; which I can't test until I buy a newer mobile phone.

I’ve had a full 5.1 setup with front floor standing speakers, rear bipolars and front presence speakers for over 20 years now. I’ll be moving to a new house soon, with a smaller living room and I feel it’s time to give up the full system. I mainly feel I would miss the effect my rear bipolars give me. So I’m torn between this which is a very elegant solution (and I have small B&O bluetooth speakers that I have been very happy with), perhaps swapping out my floorstanders for something smaller, or something like the Samsung 990D or Sennheiser Ambeo Max. I’m very much leaning towards the Stage due to its simplicity, but as I say, I fear I would miss the full surround.

Compatibility iPhone Requires iOS 14.0 or later. iPad Requires iPadOS 14.0 or later. iPod touch Requires iOS 14.0 or later. Mac Requires macOS 11.0 or later and a Mac with Apple M1 chip or later. implies all run the same code version release. Older OS will not work just as on Android you need 9.0 or later, blocking off users of older versions.

Interesting discussions, I liked all the segments. One thing if I may, I work in the field and one thing you guys perhaps did not consider was that there is such a thing as a technical debt. Stuff developers are aware of that they wish they were given the green light to prioritize and fix, but that doesn’t get prioritized because the team is always limited by its resources and therefore capacity while trying to make sure new products also have their code base so we don’t moan about how new products are launched without a working software. Business is the level that drives development priorities and developers’ voice is not always heard, or it is heard but the business accept certain risks. One thing you can trust is that assuming not all their developers are super experienced there is one or more senior developers that know their stuff. They know how to guide newcomers and share knowledge for the sake of avoiding bottlenecks (i.e. only 1 dev knowing something specific) or knowledge getting lost or because of making each other more independent. Scandinavian developers I fully trust because they are all very smart, including beyond understanding code. They not only know code but are specialists in the sense that they are expected to do UI and UX, integrations, and most importantly code speakers which is a form of specialization that is pretty much only needed at companies where audio is even a topic. I’m sure they are aware of most of these issues discussed. I have zero doubt in their testing practices too. I guarantee (even blindly) that they do different kinds of testing (which is its own science) before they might potentially burn themselves, their team and the brand. There is a sense of responsibility here and it’s not only about the cool stuff. I also disagree with the claim that one new developer might add to the mess just because they’ve got new ideas. Wild West is not how these teams work! There is more structure to it, both in working culture and in framework for development work. However, certain issues might only be caught in real life, simply due to the quality of the testing environment. Remember that real life cannot be replicated 100% in testing. I understand we are tired as end users and some customers just expect things to work, but please give the developers a break. The more techy speakers become, the more complex solutions are needed on the software end indeed. There is also a learning curve for them in the long-term structure and architecture of the app. Sometimes it is hard to predict how the app is supposed to be in one year or 5. Of course it i smarter to be in retrospect even despite of making as future-proof decisions as possible. And we cannot compare the size of the developer teams B&O has to that of Apple. As a customer myself, I am far from writing off their software or software team.

I recently contacted B&O Support for the following iOS app update defects: 1. Missing sound profile settings (Up mix, LFE, Virtualize) for the BeoSound Stage, 2. Inability to save new sound profiles. Their response was that the B&O app team had accidentally deleted it and would fix the above points in future updates. Hard to fathom that B&O would make such mistakes. But thought of letting you all know. Appreciate the B&O community and all the videos.

I just bought a BCC and hooked it up to my LG C2 TV (eARC), and then via powerink to some Beolab 6000s- very satisfying! I was wondering about how to set up a music server to run through the BCC. B&O states the BCC supports Homemedia (UPnP), but not sure what that is, or how that gets set up. I didn't like the sound of streaming from my iPhone via bluetooth, as my iPhone is a 13 pro max (might get upgraded later this year), so the bluetooth is a bit dated, and I suspect that's placing a toll on quality. The radio and TV sounds good though. Any thoughts or recommendations? Thanks.

@@Mikipedia i think i got it figured out. I disconnected the ethernet from the BCC and reset the WiFi network, and turned my iPhone bluetooth off to insure the only connection would be via airplay over the WiFi and it worked, though still the quality was poor when compared to the other inputs. I guess it is likely just my older iPhone. As soon as I plugged the ethernet back in, the airplay connection was lost.

so next year we celebrate 100 years of B&O. what would i like to see? maybe a remote in the style of the pen from the Architect from the Matrix: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/grRoeKhmr963d4U.htmlsi=tMkZ7i7Jvf5_npJZ&t=45 maybe some christmas decorations for in the tree. maybe something with a dash of colours like the covers from the old beolab 2500. maybe some new coasters and other promo materials, keychain for instance, that feel high-end. maybe a nice wireless charger. maybe some limited stuff in the sense of only available in 2025. maybe some limited stuff in the sense of limited production run. i would certainly try and put something new out every month so every month you generate some hype and awareness. for full products, i truly wonder what a new Moment could be. touch screen, colours, interface, wireless, future proof.

Small channel, not many views.. yet this was by far one of THE MOST USEFUL REVIEWS I have EVER seen on a product. So many people out there talkin' about how they "love the sound" and this and that, but you're the FIRST I've seen (including written and photo reviews) to actually SHOW the 2.4 GhZ dongle - people on the official Amazon listing can't figure out if there IS a dongle or not - none of the other reviews talks about it, yet you not only showed it, visibly, but also took us through the process of setting it up, going through the options and whatnot. Masterfully done - SUPER appreciated this! Also love your place! Hope you're enjoying the headset! = ]

Excruciatingly expensive and for the Uber rich . It’s a status symbol it’s not HIFI . BnO has and will always be top end HIFI with a huge emphasis on design , when I was into separates , British black boxes and rectangular boxy speakers I I dismissively referred to it as singing furniture. I was of course wrong . This system is certainly a looker however it most certainly is not for audiophiles or partial audiophiles as I guess some BnO users are . It’s for the Rich and good luck to them it’s absolute bragging rights to own one but for that dough I’d buy a pair of gold tone Beolab 50s and a used 9000 and get it anodised in gold proper bling 🤑

A5 is bass heavy compared to Level. Lots of bass is always impressive and most people will pick it over a more balanced system that is less tiring when listening all day. Level is stereo and packable so can carry with a laptop and get stereo. The Level can replace most conventional hi-fi systems and do a decent job. In terms of what Mozart delivers it does not lack compared to the others. I don't think it matches any of the WiSA speakers so I do not think it betters the Beolab 17 but they are larger and deeper to give the drive units space. If Levels had WiSA (low latency) I would use four of them for my main home theatre set up. There should be more finishes than the aluminium and gold tone with black or oak covers as standard editions (walnut, bamboo, dark oak and colour choices for the top and sides). I am having issues with DNLA from a computer casting to the speakers. March update broke it again. Level does nothing but I can use uPnP with Emerge and BL28. The app will also not paly music from the media player library but can que the tracks. B&O Support tell me to check Google Home and they are all set up on that. I only play from my file store of tracks and internet radio. The software has been a hassle since last year. A four year mobile phone is getting close to having no support for OS updates and with B&O shifting to support only from Android 9 and later you will soon need a new phone to use the latest version of the app. My phone is from 2018 and for the passed two years my prime use has been the B&O app.

For the Eclipse Gen 1 there’s no original spare B&O version C7 panels left, so they send out C9 / CX panels instead, but then as Willie found out you need to swap the boards from the original panel into the new one for it to work properly.
