Its not necesarily mistranslated, its just that it has double meaning Its like Ai herself is talking about her children, but for other people, she is just talking about precious gems or something like that If im not mistaken the other meaning is "Aqua, who hates his name and hates lies And Ruby who dances my songs behind my back" or something like that Both translations are correct (i think, im not that good at japanese xD)

@@sosaalexis48 It's a total mis-read of official lyrics. It's strange because some of the translations are accurate (though shaky in some parts), while the line about Aqua is wildly inaccurate. If the person translating took a look at the actual JP text that's *in* the video, there's zero ambiguity & no double meaning. "Nagareru ase mo kirei na Aqua" ( "ase = sweat" - "uso" = lies. It's clearly a mishearing but the kanji onscreen is VERY different. As for "nagareru ase" I don't know how anybody can interpret that the way they did.And no, it's not saying Ruby who dances my songs behind my back, I don't know how anybody could get that from the text. The words "back" and "dance" don't appear anywhere in the line about Ruby. And while Aqua thinks his name sucks, that's just not part of the song.

A very important detail you might have missed about the "two Ais". Ai's eyes are purple, but the one of the two had blue eyes (The light one) while the other had pink ones. (The goth one). Their positions are also the same as Aqua and Ruby at the end. I find it very interesting that Ruby is the one who's the "goth" Ai, instead of Aqua.

I red on some other comments that when Ai said, she is Maria, she is referring to herself as Virgin Mary who is called Maria in many languages, based on the conversation her children had about not having a father and her having gotten pregnant artificially

The Maria line referrs to the virgin Mary, the fact that her lie essentially is the emaculate conception. Then they move straight into her talking about aqua and ruby, they are metaphors for those two, not japanese puns.

Maria Callas is a famous Greek opera singer. (She is also mentioned in the Japanese version of Wikipedia, and is used as a metaphor for someone who sings well.) In the context of this song, I believe it represents both the Virgin Mary as a mother and Maria Callas as a singer.

Lyrics are a bit off which becomes more obvious once you read the 45510 short story (no spoilers once you've seen ep 1). The staff producing this obviously love the series and it's great to see both the OP and ED reference the main series as well.

The interpretation of these lyrics are accurate, but they might not be as straightforward as other translations. I also noticed they kept translating Ai as idol, rather than Ai (her name) or Ai (love).

The first translation I saw made it seem like Ai was answering two different questions. "What did you eat today? What's your favorite book?" "I haven't eaten yet today. That's a secret." I'm not sure which one translation is correct, but it makes sense if she's just dodging questions.

Singing shes Maria, Is such a brutal power move. AI is way to well crafted pinacol of anime character idol. Realy have i ever been expost to drawing demanding such respect and attention as she dose. And the show continues to pull this BS moves where you feel punched in guts and foced to pay atention. AI legic a godes, a being so powerfull she can break free from the binds of fiction and be someone i dont need to pretend is a idol, no she dam right is some one i would simp for. And i dont even do simping, like wtf is up with this girl with star eyes and sweat bitter darkness that my eyes just cant look away from. Oshi No Ko is one of those perfect storms that hits and leaves and has the power to change the landskabe, of not just anime i feel, but the internet itself. Becuse dam dose it have relivent points to make that feel like wakup call to the next genneration of the new dangers of our modern world.

Damn. That video's lyrics were spectacular, though not perfect. The English version us great, but always threw me off. The subtitles for KZfaq for the original were nigh unreadable, back when the video came out. Whomever made these lyrics did a damn fine job. Great reaction. I've been going back and binging the reactions for this video, idky. Maybe because of season 2, but probably because Angel Rodriguez just finished his reactions to Oshi no Ko.
