Bangor was also home for James Doohans (Scotty from Star Trek) family for many years. They ran a pharmacy, which was located immediately on the left hand side of Trinity Presbyterian Church.

What beautiful weather you had! We visit Bangor and area on all visits to NI. Nice selection of accommodation and the rail connections are handy for those not renting a car.

Has been beautiful, weather wise, here in Bangor for a few days now, and we are going to have a few more apparently! A good day of sunshine is worth more than a bag of coal as my Nana used to say. We often walk our dogs down to the long hole, it's especially beautiful if you go there just before sunrise, on a summers day when the sea is still as a millpond. It is magickal. But I'm biased of course!

Walker came to Bangor on a sunniest day in Northern Ireland on the 18th & 19th centuries. The walker might be looking straight to be seeing The Long Hole. Walker can be located on the right hand side of the bar. Wolsey's Mckee clock was built back in 1915 by James Mckee. Bangor marina was to using 560 boats in Bangor in the sunniest whether in Northern Ireland. Meanwhile on Main street walker to be looking to the Trinity Presbyterian Church founded in Bangor. Meanwhile in Hamilton Road walker can be soaring to St Comgall's Church of Ireland and which has located immediately of the Wesley Methodist Church at the Bangor City.

Excellent video. How is it that the sun is always shining in your walks? We visited Bangor a few months ago for 24 hours and followed all the same sites and sights, plus Ward Park and Bangor Cenotaph that I guess you didn’t have time for.

Sad they skipped over High Street's many nice pubs/music venues and Ward Park, also would have been nice to visit Ballyholme Beach, but the rest was great. Perhaps there is or will be a part 2?

Bangor used to be nice, now it’s an absolute dump. As a lot of shops are emptied. It was appointed to city status, sounds weird when you regard other towns are much better. It has a cathedral that’s why otherwise it’s a depressing city to visit.
@cocteaut Жыл бұрын
There is over 1500 years worth of history of this town (will always call it a town!) sure is a shame the council does not fully explore this. It would be a huge draw for tourism.

@@UvgvgVgg I’m originally from the North of England, veryyyy depressing place, most people but not all are so depressing it’s amazing. Just like the weather, dull & grey most of the time, and most of the people are the same.

@@cocteaut Their is many thousands of year’s history in any town or city obviously, Bangors is probably very depressing history if the truth be told.
