Always the professional, j-hope realised that not only did the words need to be practised but also their movements on the stage. He quickly came up with the choreography they needed to deliver their words at the podium and move seamlessly around the stage. Of course everyone followed his directions as they knew he was going to create the perfect professional image for them in front of the world.

As an Asian American advanced age ARMY, I am so proud and thankful that BTS took this once in a lifetime opportunity to speak about such a sensitive and important topic. They weren't just speaking to Americans but the world, I felt. From 2013-2022, the members have faced challenges, hate, and ridicule from home to around the world. There were a whole month for the Asian Heritage, but it wasn't on global news until BTS gets involved. Other Kpop groups make speaches too, but BTS is always worth listening, because they have important messages. The hate crimes against Asians are truly devastating.

Their speech was truly needed, and had a real impact. I'm not Asian, but I'm glad this issue is being taken seriously and people are talking about it. I hope everyone out there (seriously all of us, even if you're never intentionally racist, xenophobic etc.) takes the opportunity to reflect on any kind of prejudices you may have. Let's all keep working to stay well-informed, open-minded, self-aware, and actively try to understand, include, help and defend others.

Asian stars are different to western celebrities, in the west you get rich from Hollywood and live in Beverly Hills and then act like everyone else is beneath you, maybe do some Yoga and have a mind awakening moment > get a Buddha statue in your house and all of a sudden you feel charitable and feel the need to help others just for your public image. In Asia, we're about that life...we help because it's in our DNA to do so, we are raised that way. Our religion(s), faith, culture and upbringing promote, support and encourage it. Money won't change us because foundationally we are more grounded.

I love watching BTS work. Seeing them practise anything is kind of amazing. In this video we got them running through their lines over and over, turning to Namjoon for pronunciation, turning to Hobi to tell them where to stand when. Seeing them exchange ideas and figure out solutions, watching them take things very seriously but also telling jokes to keep the tension at bay. I admire their seamless team work so much. (Oh and the suits were nice too) 💜

One thing I absolutely love about BTS is how thorough and professional they are, they put the work in, they try to think of every detail and they work together seamlessly for that result. Now maybe they can go to the Blue House in Korea....you know the place where they have no Blacks and Southeast Asians Allowed in clubs, restaurants etc.....America doesn't allow that type of racism.If an Asian person comes here and is not allowed in a restaurant bc of their race or nationality then they will end up owning said restaurant.

If a group of Asian people go and speak on the behalf of different races y'all would complain that it's not their place to do so. They went to speak on Asian hate crime because THEY ARE ASIAN and have first-hand experience with Asian racism. Now stop being dense Lauryn, if you want people to stop being racist in Korea then go make a black artist go to the Blue House to speak on it. It is absurd that you want them to do everything, they already did a lot when they announced their support for the BLM movement and donated. You also seem to forget that when they say Asian, it includes southeast Asians as well.

I love that Jin often publicly acknowledges and praises Namjoon’s hard work as their leader, like he did here at 14:30. I think it’s because he knows very well it’s what Namjoon most wanted and needed to hear. Indeed, the latter once said: “If you ask me when was a time that I felt proud it is when the members say, ‘still Namjoon really worked hard for us.’” PS. FYI, Namjoon’s full quote is: “I try to take responsibility as the leader alone and can’t enjoy many things. To be honest, there aren’t really that many times that I feel proud of being a leader. This position of leader was not made to feel things like that. If you ask me when was a time that I felt proud it is when the members say, ‘still Namjoon really worked hard for us.’”

It is a proud moment as BTS are supporting and representing Asians.. They are not only talented but are also working on social issues.. Yes I remember this time! It’s still hard to deal with situations like this. Yet YOU fellas handled it with class and spoke up!! Great job! I remember screaming at the tv, heartbroken over the crimes. I remember, in the city i live, Asian minorities were rightly scared to venture out alone. I remember I bowed to an Asian man, hoping he did not see me as a threat, hoping he would bow back, he did. Both of us seen the inequality but chose equality, humanity.

Hello from the states , I KNEW nothing of the issues that they had faced as a new fan, i hope that they have lessen , i thank them for their actions and appreciate the efforts to expand the friendship with the us.,i have always been fascinated by Asian culture and history the beauty of your country does not stop at the landscapes it carries over to its people you are proof of that . As an American Asian, this was very meaningful and moving to me when I watched this event at the White House on live streaming in May. Each of their speeches were so eloquent and beautifully said. Thank you so much for this sweet and fun episode. BTS understands their influence so well, not just as artists, but also as global citizens. 💜

@@MooseMeus They are reflecting in asians what they suffer from a long time. It is just cause and effect, simple psycology. They only changed the roles from victims to bullies just like many others cases of abuse like rapist - victim. Rapist who was raped as a kid and them commit the same crime to another.
