Andy: "Oh I got lucky at the casino last weekend and decided to treat myself." Here in DC a group of officers for the Metrorail System were arrested for embezzling about 10 mil over 4 years. They would steal thousands a day and then go buy scratch off lottery tickets and/or go on weekend casino trips with the stolen money. That way to anyone paying attention to the new corvettes they were driving or the new fur the wife was wearing it didn't seem it of the ordinary. They were just "lucky". It's actually a smart and elegant way to keep their money from the skim looking legit thereby keeping others from asking questions.

There could have been a weakness in the system that she took advantage of or other employees around her failed to follow anti-theft procedures. It is particularly challenging to work in the space of trusting but also NOT trusting your co-workers. She found a way to game the system. However, it’s never worth it. She got 51 months prison time, has to pay it all back. Also this information is interesting: in the years 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, Bennett spent just over $3 million at the casino and won jackpots totaling $1.3 million, Shea’s affidavit states.

I worked in banking for years and something stinky in Denmark and it isn't the cheese. Especially on the part of the audits and this happening over years...smdh. Where are the cameras in the vault and monthly or "surprise " audits? I get people "trusted" her but I suspect others involved...IMO

Always ask for receipts, if depositing cash into an account. Once I had to produce a receipt, and the manager said "Oh that explains the extra $100 that didn't line up with our drawer records for that day". Point is, a teller could have pocketed the cash, if they had seen me throw the receipt in the trash.
