Wanted to test out the "larger" 2200mah battery for the Baofeng multipin radios for sale on Amazon vs the regular 1800mah battery that comes with the radio. Here are my results!

Hi Colt. Do you know if the audio mutes on the built in speaker of your Baofeng multi pin radio when you have a PTT and headset plugged into it? I have the UV9R radio with an amplified Nexus PTT from Disco32 plugged into the multi pin connection and the radio speaker never mutes regardless of whether I have the msa sordin headset plugged in or not. The sordins did come with a 6 pin Lemo plug so I had to use a Lemo to TP120 or helicopter adapter to plug into the Nexus PTT but didn’t think that should matter I thought the radio speaker would mute once the PTT was connected. Any ideas?

As soon as you attach something to the side of the radio that connects to the speaker, it should mute the internal speaker. Disco32 doesn't make the best stuff from my experience, so it could be their PTT. But, Baofeng is also a cheap radio. Easiest thing to try is to connect the cheap ear bud with PTT that came with the radio to it and see if you have the same problem. If you do, it is something in your PTT. Even if nothing is attached to the PTT, no sound should come out of the internal radio speaker, so the adapter for your headset should not make a difference, unless it is causing a short.
