Discover with us one of the lesser-known but no less magical corners of Istria: Between Labin and Pula lies a stretch of land dotted with historic villages, fortresses and amazing views of Kvarner's longest "fjord."
We first take you to Barban, a small village famous for its annual equestrian tournament 🏇 known as “Trka na prstenac”. The town also boasts two antique gates, a watchtower and two churches.
Our trip then takes us to a high hilltop overlooking a very long inlet of Kvarner bay. Stari Rakalj (old Rakalj) is the now uninhabited part of the town of Rakalj. At the top of its hill are the ruins of a fortress 🏰 dating back to the 11th century; close nearby is the church of St. Agnes, a beloved wedding spot famous for its beautiful sea views.
Our last stop is the small village of Mutvoran, surrounded by a wall with three consecutive gates 🚪. It is famous for being one of the few Istrian towns with Renaissance architecture.
