Fading Steps
- Set in guideline with trimmer
- Lever open set in next guideline
- 1 guard lever open next guideline
- 1.5, guard blend up
- 2 guard blend up
- 3 guard blend up
- Clipper over comb if needed
- Blend second guideline w/ .5 guard open to 3 qtr
- Continue blending second guideline w/ 1 guard 3qtr
- Blend first guideline w zero, lever closed
- Open lever half way, continue blending
- Continue blending with lever open
- Do any touch up work
- Use trimmers to take out bottom hair
- Use electric shaver
- Do any line up with trimmers
- Shave with straight razor

So a fade is any kind of blend from short hair to long hair. So you can place a fade low on the head, it can be mid, it can be high, it can be in the taper areas (which is the back neck and temple areas), it can be a stretched out fade or it can be a compressed fade, it can go straight around your head or it can drop towards the back. Hope that makes sense
