Before you say anything, yes *Julian* was released as a doll! But he was only available in a rare wedding gift set. I talk about it more at 1:21. And, *Ryan* was only released as a Fashionista, I briefly mention that at 6:10. Thanks for watching, I really appreciate all you support 🥰

I had a separate Julian doll but i live in europe so maybe it was a region exclusive? Also he didnt have the ponytail either but did come with a crown for Some reason? (No it wasnt the domunik swap doll)

When you look at the cover of the Barbie Princess Charm School DVD you see the confusion & last minute changes that must've taken place not long before the DVD's release. It isn't Blair, Hadley & Isla on the cover, it's Blair, Hadley & Delancy! I'm thinking they originally planned for Delancy to be the 3rd BFF & someone else to be the peer arch foe who reformed at the end. Also when you look at both Delancy & Isla's celebration ball gowns at the end of the movie they're almost completely identical, just with different colors & Isla's gown has some shoulder straps added on one side. It feels like Isla was a character who was created at the very last minute when the movie's creators changed their minds about what they wanted to do with Delancy & realized that Blair would need another BFF to take Delancy's place so had to throw a new character together very quickly. It also explains why there was no doll for Isla in the toy line. There was just no time to make one for her. She was essentially an expy of their original BFF concept for Delancy & it was too late to pull or change the Delancy doll & make one for Isla in Delancy's place or alongside Delancy.

Considering how beloved Princess and the Pauper is, as well as that barbie is going though something of a revival, it would be amazing if they released updated versions of all the Princess and the Pauper characters including Preminger and Julian. Preminger is literally my favourite barbie character of all, so ... please. If nothing else.

I remember Princess charm school being my favorite barbie movie. I looked up to Isla so much, her hair, the fact that she was asian like me and at the time deep purple was my favorite color. I asked for the Isla doll for Christmas but I was so so bummed when Ii found out he didn't even exist. Haha I still have the playset tho :)

@@inotonline8838 I think the reason Isla wasn't in the dvd cover was because she was originally gonna be the antagonist, and delancy was gonna be the friend instead. It was much more detailed than what I just described, and they didnt have enough time so they changed their roles. Even in the synopsis on some dvd's delancy was supposed to be her friend c:

ngl, Rosella's mom was one of the reasons why green became my favorite color, Ro's gown is beautiful don't get me wrong (it's my fav barbie gown) but her mom's tho, it looks so sophisticated yet so simple, it compliments her skin tone, and the MAKE UP!!! AHHHHH I was devastated as a kid when I found out they didn't make her into a doll, even to this day my heart still aches😔💔

princess charm school was my favourite movie and i loved isla and as young asian girl it sucked to not see isla as a doll. i really never saw asian barbie dolls untill the barbie fashionista line was made, i also never realized how much representation lacked for me growing up. :/

well there has been several prominent asian friends. in the 80s there was Dana Yeosan from the Rockers line, then there were Kira Nguyen and Miko Kalani (who was Hawaiian). Kira was continued into the early 2000s but eventually replaced by Lea Bing. Interestinly none of them appeared as movie actresses even though Teresa and Nikki did. But we now currently have Renee Honda so... And there was Courtney Tsubasa from Barbie Diaries, the first Asian movie character to be released as a doll

I reaaaaally wanted as a child a doll of Linden from Barbie Fairitopya: Magic of the rainbow, he was the best friend Elina had during the movie when everybody else hated her, even Glee became distant with her. But no, instead we got a Lumina doll, and she was probably the apprentice with less personality and action in the movie aside from seeing the future (even that is ambiguos since not everything she said became true)

I hope Mattel has a library specifically for every toy ever made when it comes to Barbie. And if they do I want to go there so I can pick out all of my favorites. I’ve been thinking about this for sometime and I noticed that there’s other Barbie things that aren’t toys, like the books. And some of the Barbie accessories and clothes that they’ve made for children and adults. But watching this video it just reminds me of how badly I want to customize dolls and how I need to keep reminding myself to save money to buy all of the tools to do so. This video even makes me Want to mass produce my own version of Barbie dolls which I still Barbie dolls but just Customized to be the characters that they never made.

For me, a character that I feel had a great design was Lydia from Barbie and the Diamond Castle. Her design was so gothic and unique compared to every other character's and I always found her to be very pretty for some reason. And maroon is a very unique color on a Barbie movie character. A doll of her world have been amazing, considering that they did the other muses very well. If only they made a Lydia to go with her fellow muses.

I missed out on a lot of the movies as a kid and just had the dolls, and finally watching Princess and the Pauper for the first time, I was kind of surprised that Erika was white because of what my doll of her looked like. Similarly, the doll I had of Ro from Island Princess looked like she had a sort of suntan, which makes more sense to me since she was living on a sunny island for an unspecified amount of time and probably wouldn’t be super pale.

I think the reason why Mattel didn't make most of the antagonist/villain dolls because kids won't buy them. I would love if Mattel made the villain characters into dolls and I wish that they make Isla into a doll. Maybe they can do an exclusive Isla doll right?

I really think they should make Barbie's parents as dolls the only mature dolls we have other than collector dolls are from the "happy family" line. Adding more older characters will add variety as mostly dolls are 16-25 year old🤔
