This video made me notice that Barbie sidekick character designs can really fall apart with thick eyelashes.

Azul's whole prince thing seems to be a play on the fact that real life peacocks are very regal in appearance and are very proud birds. They do not take crap from anyone, and they're courtship display of fanning out their tail feathers does double duty as a threat display. We have several at my local zoo, and everyone learns fast that you do not mess with them.

Now that I think about it, Tallulah mentioned having a brother....what if Brutus is her brother?? And the reason he's so terrible is because he was taken from his home and separated from his sister. Also he may follow Rowena around because she reminds him of Tallulah. She has light hair, is Prim and proper, etc. I know it's a stretch but this is now my own personal headcanon.

Tika is also uncanny bc her eyes are on the front of her face. They should be on the sides if she's an elephant. Also the trunk looks like a noodle sprouting from her face instead of being part of the structure of her face.

chuzzlewit is one of the prettiest likable cats in barbie for me. He acts like a real cat, unhelpful indifferent self-centered. love him. he is not guilty for being spoiled, his owner gave him a comfortable life what can I say. And Jilliana deserved much more. She is graceful, clever, sarcastic and she also saves the day with her claw trick. She is not as loud and annoying like Sequin and doesnt show off and enforce any kind of dog dance on public like Jacques did. She is elegant thats it

Azul, I believe, should’ve been in the you are perfect but no spin-off category. His personality is amazing, we need more flamboyant and sassy characters/side kicks imo. Also Sparkles and Lily I believe should have been in the I like the idea of you category, for all the reasons they helped the girls like Caitlin listed! I loved your opinions though and it was funny when you listed the lower tiers!

Literally the only thing I can say about this video is that… all the native French people in Fashion Fairytale do have accents. Barbie, Sequin, and Millicent are all Americans, Millicent just lives in France because she’s a fashion designer. But Alice, Jilliana, and Jacque are all native French characters and speakers, so they have the accent.

Okay but legit why have I on two occasions recently struggled to sing along to The Cats Meow because I start crying halfway through? The love Erica has for her cat and the message of the song, it just hit home for some reason I guess. Also I’m so glad Otto made it to the top tier. He is truly iconic and his line with ‘the juicy little detail’ and they way he pronounces that will remain in my head rent free for the rest of my life. I’m gonna have to disagree with the gemstone dolphins. I mean yeah they didn’t do much as “sidekicks” but you gotta consider that half of the plot kind of revolved around them. If it weren’t for them then the villain wouldn’t have a reason to be a villain other than just having a bad attitude.

You do not have to explain otto, that credit scene where he is trying to serve gothel is 100% iconic to me. All the scenes with him are iconic as well, 1000% he needs a spinoff.

Love Bibble, Shiver, Penelope, Hobbie, Wolfie, Seraphina, and Lila. (Cat's Meow is my favorite Barbie movie song too.) But my favorite sidekick is Sagi. He's the most underrated but the best. He was Ro's ride or die, and he cared about her so much. He deserved better and more love! I love him with my all heart! I will not rest until he gets the recognition he deserves. I will stand by Sagi until the day I die. Sagi supremacy!

Shiver is one of those characters that I LOVED as a kid, and then upon re-watching as an adult was completely unamused by. Like her primary character trait besides a one-track-mind on anything sparkly, is to just get in trouble in order to move the plot forward. And you could argue Bible works similar as a mini plot device, but at least he'a still charming - his scenes hold up overtime.

As a kid, I had a junior novel version of The Island Princess. I read it so many times and every single time I HATED Tika. It made me so uncomfortable how she took Ro’s choices away from her, manipulated her, and tried to keep her from growing… that’s a scary type of relationship none of us need in our lives 😅🙏

I remember most Barbie movies with Polish dub obviously, cause I was a child. And that's so funny because I think the voice of Penelope is so comforting. I love her so much. The same for my most favourite Barbie movie, Serafina and Wolfie, also the horse! I don't remember his name but was a great friend, help a lot. I don't know if it's the same for the original but now watching Princess and the Pauper I kinda feel weird because the cats moewing is also done by human voice actors. I mostly agree with all of them. I think Bibble is the best on every language version.

Gosh I remember how annoying Tika was. I haven't seen any barbie movies after the Island princess, but Tika is definitely the worst sidekick that I know. I remember liking Bibble 'cause he's simply so cute and also Lila 'cause she's so funny. Now I would say that also Wolfie is great. Though I don't know which one I would put as number 1, I probably should rewatch these movies.
