Barbra is Celine's idol - as an English singer. And Celine told her so. Barbra replied "I know how you feel. I felt the same when I sang with Judy Garland"

Actually, Barbra corrected that information. Barbra didn't say that to Celine. What she said was, she understood why Judy was so scared in her later years. Judy was not Barbra's idol. She (Barbra) didn't have any idols, just favorites. Johnny Mathis, Joni James were her favorite singers growing up in the 50s.

Celine said her Mom was her "personal idol" and Barbra her "professional idol". There's a "making of" video with both chatting here on YT. 😊

When you have two classy superstars who sing from their hearts and not their egos, this is what you get...a beautiful amalgamation of voices and souls...that mutual respect for each other's art... this was genuine. The gentleman at the piano is the great David Foster who worked with these two ladies separately. Knowing of Celine's dream to sing with her idol, Foster made it happen and wrote and produced this song along with his then wife, Linda Thompson (formerly Elvis' girlfriend), and Celine. The lyrics depict a mother and daughter singing convo... since there is a 26-year difference between the two ladies, Celine at the time was 29, Barbra 55, it was the perfect fit for a duet between the two. Huge hit to say the least. 👍reaction!
