Barbara Streisand has always been Celine’s idol. She is thrilled to meet her & duet with Barbara.

Barbra was Celine's musical and career idol growing up, this was her dream come true to get to perform with her. It came together because Celine performed Barbra's Oscar nominated song at the Oscars, and Barbra was in the ladies room and missed it! Afterwards Barbra was apologizing and Celine joked well when can we do our duet and Barbra said, well I'll make it happen and she did. There is similar video where it was Barbra as the young singer realizing her dream of her performing with her idol, a very young Barbra appeared on Judy Garland's TV show and there are clips of those two singing together well worth watching.

Such phenomenal singers! So incredibly sad what is happening to Celine, breaks my heart.

What makes Barbara's voice so unique is the ability she has to sing like shes having a conversation ❤

I am Canadian., Maybe because I grew up in the sixties I heard Barbara strysound and I thought I had never heard a more beautiful voice. Also, my father loved and we are white. By the way, but he loved Sam Cooke ellifits Gerald. He loved Barbara Streisand believe it or not, even though it came a little bit after meaning he had kids and we brought that in. But her voice is just unique and I do know that Celine Dion's voice is phenomenal. They are awesome together. The sound and their voices mixing is beautiful, so thank you. The Bee Gees wrote a song for Celine Dion called Immortality, they sing it together live on Bee Gees One Night Only Concert. Barry Gibb also wrote and produced the album Guilty for Barbara Streisand. He sings a couple of duets with her and they do backup. Michael Jackson and Barry Gibb recorded a song together. All In Your Name. They also wrote Islands In The Stream by Kenny and Dolly.

Yes their voices blended together beautifully. This was the only duet they did together. I suggest you check out Celine song called Immortality with the BeeGees in the background. Barbra has done many duets including You Don't Bring Me Flowers(with Neil Diamond), Enough is Enough(extended version with Donna Summer), Guilty(with Barry Gibb), What Kind of Fool(with Barry Gibb), Make no mistake he's Mine(with Kim Carnes) and If you ever leave Me(with Vince Gil).

Lovely reaction! The two of them wanted to work together and it was a great example of two artists who respect each other and find a way to respectfully allow each other the space to shine without trying to out-do each other.

There's a "behind the scenes" video. Celine said Barbra was her "professional idol" (Mom being her personal idol). Barbra has done approximately 45 (!) duets in her career. From Barry Gibb to Donna Summer to Ray Charles to Frank Sinatra to Bryan Adams...and herself!

I always wish that time travel were possible and a Streisand at her vocal peak (say, the same age Dion is here) could perform this duet instead of a Streisand in her mid-50s. She's still spectacular here, but she was even better previously.

You should check out Lara Fabian. I found out about hr from these reactions and I can say she is even better than Celine!!! Je Suis e and Je Taime are amazing. There ware lots of cool duets in the 80's Barbra and Donna Summer did an amazing duet Enough is Enough!! Barbra also did a tear jearker with Neil Diamond You Don't Bring Me Flowers.

Both amazing voices, but Barbra makes it seem so effortless and she's not trying to outshine Celine. Celine, on the other hand seems like she is trying to outsing Streisand (good luck with that). She comes across as being a royal pain in the ass. Not saying that she IS just that it's how it appears with all the idiotic facial expressions and I love me attitude. Having said that I do appreciate her voice.
