"Tell Him" is the lead single from Barbra's album Higher Ground and Celine's album Let's Talk About Love, all released in 1997. It was a top-10 commercial success across Europe and Australia and garnered a nomination for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals at the 1998 Grammy Awards.

That year, Barbra and Celine were slated to perform this LIVE on the Grammy's. But last-minute Streisand came down with a sore throat and had to bow-out . Celine instead sang My Heart Will Go On from that sinking ship movie. It would have been a glorious live performance, if it had happened. Personally, good chance Barbra just decided not to do it - partly due to her lazy personality (takes long periods of time off between projects) and perhaps didn't want to be eclipsed by Celine - you have to admit the best parts of the song were given to Celine to sing. Barbra's parts do play second fiddle to Celine's parts - and it would have shown in the live performance. 65% is Celine, while 35% is Barbra - more or less. This is also a reminder that Streisand and Donna Summer never sang their super hit No More Tears live. Another missed opportunity.
