ABOUT US.
We’re the Lockwoods: a family with 3 kids, 5 careers, and endless passion for adventure. Two years ago, we decided it was time for Phil's ad agency to abandon the in-person, 5-day workweek. So they 86’d the office and work hours, allowing our own family to start traveling almost constantly. We now work, school, and explore in a different place every week-from our own mountain and beach homes to exotic villas, resorts, and yachts around the world. As we experience and support diverse cultures, we hope to inspire more families to design a life of freedom and adventure.
Because there’s a new American Dream. It’s one that’s void of templated expectations, templated career paths, templated education, templated families, templated homes, and templated lives. Freedom is no longer an American tagline-it’s just the new, global way of life.
Every day that you spend doing something that doesn’t fulfill you to your core, you’re living your life on pause. You’re deferring genuine family time with no guarantee that there will be a tomorrow or a someday. Some people follow that mentality their entire lives. We’ve chosen to never live that way again.
We appreciate you following our journey. The more our channel grows, the more time we can spend traveling to more locations, contributing to these cultures, highlighting local businesses, and sharing inspiring stories from these communities. So please consider liking, commenting, and subscribing so that you can stick with us for the long haul.

Yes, it's nice to hear that feedback, Dieter. We do recognize the over-the-top nature of some of our travel experiences, but I think one thing we share with you is a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of all humanity and a desire to find and form meaningful connections with people around the world. Sending positive energy for happiness and safe travels your way, my friend!

@@lockwoodphil Thank you Phillip~ Since we're both foodies, I thought I'd share with you what I'm going to be making later: Pizza... wheat and flax sourdough... toppings: fermented spinach, sprouted lentil, green onion, pickled jalapeno, canned sardines, himalayan salt. Cheese: white cheddar sprinkled with olive oil. Cooked in cast iron, which I carry in my luggage haha. :) Blessings from mexico.

@@lockwoodphil The pizza was divine... Travel would be cool for sure. I'd love to show you my woodstove that's back in Canada. It fits in a regular sized back pack, except the chimney. I can actually bake bread with it hehe. :) Lately I've been dreaming of the simple life back north, fishing, hauling the freshest water from the creek, making tea from pine and spruce needles. Check my two videos of Lake Louise to see the sky spirit that visited me, a magical place I give highest recommendation.

I'm not sure about canned tuna... I'm sure it's better than the stuff we have in the US, but I think fresh is always 20x better :) Everything looks delicious, though :)

Husband speaking - about 5 years ago we were on a two week Mediterranean Cruise hasted by KIRO radio host Dori Monson. For the different countries we visited, I was impressed and un-empressed at the same time. Amazing scenes - lots of history, buildings, etc. but for their life in general not so much. I can't imagine living in an apt. all my life. One on top of another, no yard, garden, noise. Super rich, and poor. I personally have never drank alcohol of any kind and do not care for sea food. My wife on the other hand ( Filipino ) will eat most anything that doesn't bite first. I'm sure your guide loved her job with you getting to eat at the best places. ok on to your next story.

*my wife will eat most anything that doesn't bite first* 😂😂 It's actually very cool to hear that you've never had alcohol before. We have our ups and downs... often we get cocktails for episodes because it's interesting for the content and our audience, but in a lot of ways we'd prefer not to drink, either. Thanks!

@@AlwaysBeChanging IAt age 12 or 13, sitting at our small dinner table, 1955 or 56, my mom would be drinking a beer, I reached across the table and took a swig. Nothing was said, I only did this once or twice. It didn't take, try to explain to fellow military friends in the barracks why I didn't drink even beer, can't be done.

Ok. here's the deal. My wife and I watch almost nothing more than travel videos. They take the shape of more food than travel but the sights are very important us well. Unfortunatel,y some do not get it but you guys are doing a great job. your filmography is really good and the restaurants you visit are very interesting. Your children are also a great add because they are so excited to try new foods. I encourage you to continue in your endeavor and never give up. thank you for your hard work. we look forward to seeing your guys again!

@@AlwaysBeChanging Out of all the countries that we have traveled to, Italy is our favorite. It seems to have everything that we love. Rome with its ancient history, the beautiful scenery of the Tuscan landscape, the regional foods throughout the country and the beautiful nature of the people. We have also been to Spain, Greece, France Hungary, England and I by myself traveled Germany and back in the day I was stationed while in the Marine Corp. In Sicily. My wife and I Have missed our yearly trip due to the pandemic but plan on returning once again next year. We look forward to viewing all your videos so keep them coming. You will most likely get some more commenting by me so I guess you can say that we will stay in touch. Good luck and Happy Travels!!!

Which food did you like most Florence or Barcelona?
@AlwaysBeChanging
@AlwaysBeChanging 2 жыл бұрын
Good question. I’d say Florence for the pasta and wine but Barcelona takes it for the tomato bread drenched in olive oil. The croquettes we had in Barcelona were also amazing!
@philliplockwood

Totally depends on your favorite cuisine, but since I'm partial to Mexican and Italian foods, I'd have to give Florence a slight edge.

Tapas is an experience, not a "starter: Tapas, is traversing the city streets, from Bordaga, to bar, bar to Bordaga, trying a few small plates in each one. Sitting in a restaurant eating a small plate of food is not eating Tapas by any stretch of the imagination ........if you are ever there again don't set foot in a "restaurant: again ( they are for Weddings and Birthdays) ..Enjoy!
