I had an enjoyable visit to Barcelona a few years back. Most memorable experience was the Munjuic Cable Car and the lovely view from the Munjuic Castle. Parc Guell and the Sagrada Familia was really fascinating. Walking along the Las Ramblas and a side trip to the Mercat de St Josep was very entertaining. Wish I had more time in Barcelona and I’m sure I could have discovered more sites, if you had your KZfaq channel at that time … 👍 😂 Thanks Tony for another amazing video !!! 👍 😊

Tony, thank you so much for your videos. We are traveling to Spain and Italy in a few days and your videos have been very informative and helpful. What is the easiest/best way to reach the view point at Tibidabo? I recall going there a few years ago and we had to walk a few blocks from the car park and it was a STEEP climb. I'm older now and want to climb the street as little as possible. Thank you!
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal 10 ай бұрын
Hi Peter, in actual fact, there are just three ways to reach the summit: - car or taxi - Tibidabo funicular - Vallvidrera funicular and local bus (details the video). There are no climbs involved.

Another great video. I had to submit your channel. ;) One question, please. If I understood it correctly, to go to the top of Turo de la Rovira you can walk. How steep is that path and how much time do the average person need to climb to the top?
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal 7 ай бұрын
From the final stop of bus 22, it's a 10 minute walk (15 minute maximum if you walk slowly). It is only really steep in the last 100 meters or so. All the best.

Montjuic mountain and 2 Miradors nearby. I understand that there is a bus 150 to get near the spots. But i read somewhere that there is possibility to walk to it helped by some escalators. Do you know something about it? From where to start walking, how long does it take...

Many thanks for your hints. This is very helpful. We plan to visit Tibidabo Mountain by public transportation after your top 6 choices. First subway, then cable car to bottom of Tibidado, then shuttle bus 111 to the top, is it correct? Do I need to paid extra for Funicular Tibidabo or Funicular Vallvidrera? What's the difference between them? I am a little confused how to get there. Thanks
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Жыл бұрын
Hi Gordon, getting to the Tibidabo mountain is a bit tricky. There is no cable car in the region. You either: - take the Funicular del Tibidabo, fast, modern, direct, expensive, not covered by public transport tickets. - or take a train to the base of Funicular de Vallvidrera, climb to the top station and catch the 111 bus, all the trip covered by local transport tickets.
@barbara88-
@barbara88- 9 ай бұрын
I am also confused. I have read the directions on the Tibidabo site, but it still seems so confusing. I just found this : Metro + funicular + bus or on foot From Placa Cataluyna, the metro lines S1 and S2 go to the station Peu del Funicular. Coming out of the subway without leaving the station take the stairs or the Elevator to go up to the funicular Vallvidrera (Vallvidrera Inferior). The funicular takes you to the upper station of Vallvidrera Superior. Exit the funicular, turn right here, literally 5 metres away is a bus stop 111. This bus will take you to an amusement Park and Tibidabo temple. Is this correct and accurate?
@gordon452
@gordon452 9 ай бұрын
@@barbara88- I ended up with Subway + Taxi to Tibidabo mountain. And bus 111 + funicular + Metro back to hotel. I am still not sure which Subway stop is to get on the funicular.

Tony, you mention public transport tickets in Barcelona. Please advise me whether it is better to buy a T-usual ticket online on TMB before I come to Barcelona, because that's what I want. And then try to use the code that will be sent to me by e-mail to download it from the machine? Is it better not to mess around, but just buy it on the spot at the airport, paying with an ATM card?

And the viewpoints you mention must we very worth while visiting. Guess we are spoiled after visiting Madrid, Cordoba, Sevilla and a specially Granada first.

Hi there, each person, a different trip. Barcelona remains one of our absolute favorites in the world but in your defense I will concede that, when we see where tourists go and where they eat in Barcelona, we are constantly reminded that that is not the Barcelona we fell in love with. As for pickpockets, no difference at all between Barcelona, Madrid or Seville. In actual fact, the most recent three theft reports from viewers of our channel happened in Madrid. All the best!

Hi, I am planning 3 days pre-cruise in Barcelona. On the 3rd day I want to go to Montserrat to the the aerial tramway to Monserrat. Do you need to buy tickets in advance if you wish to go on your own? (like Segrada Fam.) I see lots of ads for tours, but no official website, if I need tickets in advance or just show up on the day you wish to visit ??? Via metro to cable car? Same questions for the amusement park at Tibidado. Just take the metro and show up and buy tickets the day of visit? Day 1 and 2 I have advanced paid reservations for "Brightside" motorcycle sidecar 1/2 day tour and Sagrada Fam. tour tour tickets purchased 2 months in advance. Your videos have been the best help of any on KZfaq ! Thanks!

@@CongTran-nx8bg you are very kind, too, Richard. We keep meeting followers of the channel during our trips, who knows? We can't understand all those KZfaqrs who don't reply to comments. Surely that involves a lot of work (we spend a couple of hours every day and we are a small channel) but surely big channels make a lot of money out of KZfaq and could perfectly afford to hire someone to take care of the comment section. Anyway, for as long as we have time, we will continue our effort to leave no question unanswered! All the best.

DON'T GO to the Turó de la Rovira (the last one) at least for some time untill they solve the "problem" they have. The problem? There are so many tourists you can't even move, it's overmassified.
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
@ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal Жыл бұрын
Your statement needs to be qualified. As you can see from the very recent images we took (went there three times in a short period of time), the Turó is far from being a wild zone. The problems occur at the end of the day, which we would avoid. Any other time of the day, it is perfectly fine. A solution should be in place shortly in the form of a gate (construction being finalized).
