I remember going to my first anime convention in 2020 and my second autograph was from the va for krillin and after all these years I never knew he voiced bardock as well I only found that because he had bardock art on his table my mine was blown 🤣

I've owned Kakarot for a long time now, but FINALLY started to boot it up with the 23rd World Tournament DLC. Completely forgot that Bardock had his own DLC episode though, so I'm playing that first instead! Very fun way to start a Dragon Ball Z game, and I cannot wait to go through this entire anime(plus the final arc of Dragon Ball!) in full! Such a fun start so far!

Similar thing with me. I had bought the game at release 3 years ago and barely finished the radditz fight. Not to long after I sold my ps4 and forgot about the game. I bought the ps5 a while ago and saw the deluxe version of this game on sale that comes with season pass 1, beat the game with those dlc and decided to buy season pass 2. Glad I waited all this time because I definitely feel it complete now versus 3 years ago.

It's a trend that a lot of people experienced: Being hype for this game, but quitting it before the saiyan saga finishes. This is due to the game version of the saiyan saga being the worst part of the game. Most of the saiyan saga feels like a tutorial and the game never truly lets you explore on your own. However, the frieza saga is when the game takes starts to pick up, however even that saga feels limited because the game traps you on planet namek and doesn't let you return to earth until you finish the saga. The game only really feels SUPER fun during and after the cell saga. However, the DLC's are amazing, as well.

Great review! You make, by far the best and most informative reviews on youtube. Literally every question I might have is answered. I'm gonna wait until the rest of the season pass is out to buy this one, and the one piece game also looks great too. I liked the trunks dlc, but I did get it on sale for like 10 bucks. Lol.

Nice video you should make a video on maybe your hopes for the next dlc I dought there will be new areas with it which could be a negative for you but there could still be some cool new things added like tournaments

Downloading this and playing it tomorrow on my day off. As soon as the Future Gohan/Trunks/Androids DLC came out almost 2 years ago, I was immediately hoping that they would eventually make one for Bardock! Glad to see that my wish actually came to fruition. YES! 😁😁😁

As someone who has had this game for Xbox for a year and a half and have only put like 6 hours into it (I play games sporadically) but have fully intended on going for a full play through, this is literally the perfect time to jump back in as I’ll be able to play the entire game chronologically starting with this and DLC 5! Excited to see what DLC 6 will be. In my ideal scenario it’ll be Dragon Ball SuperHero (Maybe include a Broly boss fight a-la BattleofGods/ResurrectionF DLCs). I feel that would create the perfect bookends for the game! Great review, thanks 🙏

There already is a dlc called a new power awakens part one and two, which allow you to unlock god and blue transformations for goku and vegeta, along with new abilities, they wouldn’t make that since it would just be repeated fights(Beerus, Whis, and Golden Frieza you can fight in these dlcs)

I really want to play this dlc, Bardock is one of my favorite characters, but my save data corrupted from the update they put out on Xbox… what sucks most is that I was just in the middle of the trunks dlc too :/

If your playing on series x they put out a free dbz kakarot version. You load up a save in it, save again and then you can run it on next gen. Might not be perfect and you might have figured it out already but its a way.

This DLC focuses on the events of DBZ Bardock specifically, not DBS. Gine and Kid Raditz aren't canon to the events of DBZ bardock, DBZ bardock never seems to show an ounce of care for raditz, which was actually one of the reasons people didn't like him back then.

I played almost every Dragon Ball game out there and this is one of the first games I’ve started and didn’t finish. The combat system is tedious and shallow. It’s so frustrating coming from a long time dbz fan. Hope the new game will actually be of quality.

Thing is, super saiyan Bardock is from an entirely different special so it makes sense that he cannot go super saiyan.

@@Canyon_Storm I get what you are saying but the future trunks arc DLC is more like the entire canon story of future trunks. That includes the Majin Buu saga of his timeline. The bardock DLC told the entire canon story of DBZ Bardock. Super Saiyan Bardock is not canon.

@@mysticz9046 Speaking the truth, legit EVERYONE said after the Frizea saga the game dropped in quality. By either skipping over events or just giving it a slideshow. The Trunks and now Bardock dlc are so much better than the base game, the Beerus dlc, and Golden Frizea dlc.

@@mysticz9046 tons of people say that, legit everyone says the game lost some quality after the Frizea arc. Especially since they cut out TONS OF content. The animation is nice but they drop quality in the main game. The dlcs are a superior experience of the game. Not to mention the Future Trunks dlc is BRAND new content for the dbz world since we never really got a look at Trunks' timeline after the Androids

Small heads up: at the time of this comment, the Bardock DLC cannot (for some reason) be downloaded for PS4 versions (at least on my ps5. I don’t like to use the ps5 storage unless I NEED to)

I'm just not sure if it's worth 20$ for like 3-5 hour of gameplay. My question is, after you beat the DLC, can you bring Bardock into the main game post game? lol I know once you beat the Trunks DLC, you got SSJ2 transformation for Trunks for the main game, so figured I'd ask.

I think it'll be worth it when it's on sale a few months later. Maybe spring sale on Steam could be a good way to buy this. OR G2A and other key reselling sites. The only problem with those is that you don't directly support the creators. Still, a cheap game is a cheap game and as long as you buy it and it's on the platform that it's advertised on, it's completely legal.

@@guywithnohouse.6808 the hard mode difficulty settings update was added back in September 2021 when the nintendo switch version of the game released, and it was exclusive to the switch version for awhile (alongside the substories of unlocking vegito and gotenks, for them being playable only in battle, post game). Then only about a month later, the update released for the other platforms as well (October 2021). So i hope that clarified things for u, yw ig.

I’m having so many problems with kakarot the dlc isent on the store and since I’m on Xbox and the update hasent come out I can’t even play past saves this is so dumb

I know it's not the point of the game but I wish you could play as whoever you want in the open world and doing story stuff like I wish you could play the Bardock story and then go back to the normsl story and plax as him would make the gsme 10× better if you could just play as who you want of the playable chars that you already used at least once And like I said I know thats not the point of the gsme to play as whoever but would be better in my opinion
