Couple of over sights in your content; the SnoScoot was made for 3 years 1988-90 and the SnoSport was made for 2 years in 1990-91. They were all available in all years with or without electric start. Great review on the machine!

Our family has 8 sleds. 6 are new but 2 are getting old but still run and look great. They are perfect for the grandkids or just bringing new riders out to enjoy winter for the first time.

Absolutely Brilliant - This is truly a great and innovative episode. I commented a few seasons ago about the importance of passing on our passion to newer generations. This episode does just that. Mark, I want to commend you for sharing your father perspective and how you introduced these sleds to both A.J. and Luke when they were younger. Likewise on how this passion has also passed on to your grand-daughters - Bravo! - You have certainly had a significant and lasting impact on the lives of your family. Life today is much different than in our day and like many fathers, we try to expose our children to what was so great about our generation. Snowmobiling is truly an “À Propos” activity about living our winters in Canada. Once again, many thanks for this type of episode and getting my weekend started with a smile. A very appreciative viewer from Québec.

Love what you’re doing. Thanks for bringing us something vintage! I love the history of our sport. I did not know Yami had both a Scoot and a Sport. Never seen one before that I can recall. I really like it when you show us the skid (thanks for rolling her over) and I’d like to see under the panels/hoods on the new and old stuff too. Maybe you can edit in a few still shots while you talk so you don’t have to burn time taking stuff apart on camera. Keep up the great work!

Super little sleds and well ahead of their time. Dare I saw even better that the current generation sno sports. Upgraded with plastic skis and a 121” x 1.25” track makes these very capable off trail and better than current 200’s. Yamaha should have retooled these with upgraded / lighter from suspension, plastic skis, warmers, opened up boards, new power + better track but otherwise the same. Nice find. Most were beat on pretty hard and neglected but even in poor condition still fetch $$$. If buying one, the frames do tend to rust out but can be fixed / easily patched if you’re handy with a welder.

Great video! I remember when those came out and they were pretty mind blowing. It was like a cross between a 4-wheeler and a snowmachine. Yamaha was so innovative back in the 70's through the 00's. Now they just gave up. It's sad.

Definitely iconic! I remember the first time I rode a scoot, I was a teenager and thought it was the coolest thing ever. Even as low powered as it was we had a blast on that thing all winter long and never managed to brake it. They very much resemble sleds of today why Yamaha never had the Ah-haa moment way back then. They had gold in there hands and In production they only needed to upscale it to higher power levels and size of course. Love you're shows fellas keep them coming! 😎👍 commenting from Michigan and looking forward to a chance to sled Quebec some time

Great stuff…….and sad stuff. I was a 3 decade Yamaha guy. They were innovative and have always made extremely reliable products. This was a very cool product and as you say….today this would sell in huge quantities today. Unfortunately, Yamaha has lost their way and their drive to do things differently. Could they re-invent themselves? Surely. But there is zero will, as snowmobiles are such a minute segment of their motor division. I say they should pull out the stamping dies and re-invent the Enticer line-up. The industry needs a smaller, fun machine that sells in droves and doesn’t cost $10,000 in Canada. Sorry, but as good as it is, the SX Venom doesn’t fit the bill. Sure, profit margins on the little stuff makes it hard to justify the investment but we all know that snowmobilers are like boaters and their “2-foot itis”. They’ll eventually be looking for more power and if was a great product…you know how brand-loyal we all are!

Since the big 4 seem unwilling to please the customer in this regard, I wonder if a start-up with lower overhead could come along and steal some market share. You don't need to pay industry-leading engineers to re-fabricate 1990's technology.

Awesome walk around ! We have an 88 snoscoot still in the family and it likely has the most running hours of all the sleds. Yamaha really did miss the “marketing mark” back in the day when these were in production. An adult “pit bike “ of the snowmobiles. One thing you forgot to mention was the all chromoly tube steel chassis. Good on Yamaha though to bend the rules and try something different…I have Phazer 485 fever so I’m a little biased😂

Thanks for this. Oh man, these sleds are brilliant fun, even for big adults. Much cheaper here in Japan. Paid 500 bucks for a Snosport two years ago, and just picked up a second for 200 bucks. While I was loading it a guy offered me a Scoot for 200, so now it’s triplets. Plastic skis are transformative, as are lug extenders. Can anyone sell me a snoscoot carb and track?
