Love the early 2000's graphic engine aesthetics of WinXP/Xbox/PS2 era; reminds me of the immortal 'Die Hard Arcade' :D Seeing SF Alpha 3 makes me miss the quality of games 'Made in Japan' in late 90's early 00's . I was so close to visiting it at one point. Had xp with MoCap and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity to visit the place that inspired artists like Toriyama and movies like 'Akira' and 'Ghost in the Shell'.

That yellow plug on the back is actually a 7 pin s-video output! 😊 A standard s video cable will work and the extra pins in the center could be for RGB, component or composite video.. every manufacturer did it differently.

I recently acquired the Asus ROG gaming Laptop with Radeon 5870 graphics card...i wanted this with a real dedicated card in it..can actually play games at decent frame rates..not games from the last 10 years of course..but up to about 2010..pretty much everything..i5 first gen is quite enough heat to shift out the back with its dual fans..i stripped and cleaned and repasted and changed CMOS battery..some replacement parts..and an SSD..Windows 7 i installed..sound could be louder..I'm looking into audio amplification as the final step upgrade..otherwise it's perfect..17 inch wide screen..lovely

Yeah. Before SSD, loading times on HDD could be quite hectic. Don't even start me on a mandatory swap file space. If amount of RAM was inadequate, or program couldn't address beyond 128 MB RAM, HDD would work it's heat out. Like a race car with Cosworth DFV V8 is trying to keep the pace with Renault RS V10🥵

Just as with consoles it's important to keep older computers to keep playing some of the best games of all time. Backwards compatibility will never be perfect I think🙂

we used to have this exact laptop when i was very young. it had cracks all over the hinges. from opening and closing the laptop. i still have an old desktop pc from back then. put on linux lite, and it can still browse the web just fine.
