Why some tests are with people sitting down and this one is laying down??

I had the barium swallow procedure done and I can not understand the youtube videos than I have seen making it sound like the liquid tastes so horrible. That was not my experience.

Thanks a lot for your GREAT video. I just want to add one more thing: Please, use a flexible straw. And do NOT touch the tips of the straw (or cup). Or if it fell down on the bed, use a CLEAN straw. We don't like to get sick because of a dirty straw! Thanks

I have a dislocated hyoid bone, where it is pulled down and sitting on the thyroid cartilage, from a botched plastic surgery that surgeons are not certain to confirm even though two orthopedic doctors are certain just from palpating the area. Can a swallow test illustrate the action and position of the hyoid bone?

Bmc made me use a regular pillow it was too high and it hurt my neck! Had me on my belly with left leg up and excruciating amount of weight on my right shoulder. In pain and expected to swallow in addition to an already painful inconsistent swallow ended up choking on barium and having to spit it out in a bag. They then gave my water while laying on my back it went into my sinuses!

I've gotten paid for helping out in demonstrations like this and gotten paid for it. But I would never do any like this. Just sitting under an active x ray machine for what could be 8 hours
