In this video build log series I am building a vintage RPM Barn Stormer 25S RC Plane Kit. If you like to fly, build, crash and repair RC planes (Radio Control Planes), I hope this video build series will be informative, interesting and maybe entertaining.
This video I go over briefly go over what hardware and electronics and engine I will be installing in the next few steps. I will be using an OS MAX .25 FP glow fuel engine, a Sullivan 8 once fuel tank, a fueling dot for rc planes, Sullivan Golden Rods 4-40 size control rods, Great Planes small control horns, Dubro 2.5 inch micro sport wheels, a Futaba electronic switch, Futaba S3004 servos, Futaba S9001 servo, Futaba R2006GS receiver, Futaba 6J transmitter, and a 4.8 volt NiMH battery from Batteries America. In the following videos I will be breaking in the new OS MAX .25 FP and installing all of the stuff mentioned above.
I have been building, flying, crashing, modifying, and repairing radio control planes for many years and enjoy sharing what I do with the radio control plane community. I fly with Futaba radio equipment, OS Max engines and Saito engines and typically run Morgan and Powermaster glow fuels. I fly ARF rc planes, but I also like to build rc plane kits.
Lets keep RC plane kit building alive! RC plane kits I have built or will be building include vintage House of Balsa RC (DHC Chipmunk), Royal Marutaka RC kits (Bird Dog, B-25 Mitchel, P-51 Mustang, F4-U Corsair), Sterling RC Kit (Stearman PT-17). I also build modern ARF RC kits (Great Planes, Hangar 9). My next rc plane build will be the Balsa USA Smoothie 40.
