Wonder why they decided to move away from the piston system. I have a piston one and makes me wonder if there is an issues as to why they went DI. Haven't had issues with mine though.

I wish that Barrett with their new REC7 D.I would have changed the twist rate to a 1:11.25 or 1:12 for all the new light weight great ammo being produced by ATK/Federal 90gr and Hornady 100gr. The slower twist rate with 5r rifling has come to age with the 6.8 x43. I don't understand why your competition LWRC stuck with the 1:10 like Barrett did? I guess they (both) are trying to get the greater range with the heavier grain ammo. Anyway, I sure do wish that US SOCOM would switch to the 6.8...

I just can not get my head around a $1,900 di AR-15. I know that is Barrett's SRP but still in my opinion this rifle is just way over priced. Go to Palmetto State Armory's web site and spec out the same rifle and you will not spend half that price and still get a rifle of very high quality. My PSA AR-15 hits the bull's eye 6 out of 10 times at 75 yards with a Bushnell TRS-25 and the 4 misses are close and all mine. My total spend with optics was right around $650 and that is with a 1-7 SS barrel, nickel boron FCG and trigger, JP trigger springs, comparable hand guard and the same Magpul stock. In know Barrett has a well deserved reputation but I can't see that adding $1,000++ to the Retail Price for a di AR-15. Please let me know where you see my error in logic.
