Hi Barrie, thanks for your review and demonstration, they're thorough and detailed! I plan to buy a used golf mk7 with a dsg gear box. May I know how I can check or at least have an idea of the level of wear of the dsg clutch? Thanks.

Another Beauty Barrie , I drove a manual one the other day and I was impressed with that but would prefer the DSG .. excellent tax band also .. great car ... should fly out ...👍🥶

the DSG box is really good but it has to be serviced and the correct oil used

Great video; have a 16 GTD myself in manual; obviously love it to bits. The seats are the best in business. Recently drove a Mk7.5 DSG (and I'd be a manual driving person) but blimey I was 110% converted my next car will be DSG and I didn't think I would be. The timings and smoothness are so intuitive...some cars the autos are always in a different gear to the one you want to be in. Watch out for the silica bag in the coolant in them, huge problem on all modern VAGs, had to replace the whole heater matrix on my old FR....

@@Blackmamba12345 DSGs are bulletproof in my experience. We have a Passat on 250k and still going. Never had a problem with the autobox. That 2.0 TDI really suites that box. It just makes it a joy to drive and so much less hassle than a manual. 🙂 👍

the only time we have had problems with a DSG box is when they have been serviced by a numbskull and they have used the wrong oil (two cars)

I find the sound insulation rather poor above speeds of 50 mph

you have a good point, low profile tyres and sports suspension do tend to produce more noticeable noise levels

I’ve never brought a car with a digital service history only? Normally that’s an excuse if the seller has lost their service book. Every time you take a car into a dealer they request the service book to stamp, Ford and Nissan have always done that with my two. That bit of paper you’ve just read out that information on is worth literally less than nothing. A service book is physical proof that a car has been well maintained and looked after.

@@scoobz007 i quite agree re service books however Service Books arent worth the the paper they are written on as you can buy a stamp off Ebay for a tenner, however the digital service history is registered on line and cannot be changed, so it should be better than a service book, however nothing beats a stack of invoices
