First towing review with all new Airlift 5000 series suspension developed speficaly for the all new 2023-2024 Ford Superduty F350 Tremor. Very happy with how this setup did on the truck on and off road.
Also a DEF cost break down and payback analysis on the $12,495 diesel engine upgrade over the 7.3l Gas engine when considering towing fuel mileage. The results were shocking if you tow often.

I run 60 psi in my while towing and had my bags going on 6 years. Couldn’t imagine towing without them.

Thanks for the fuel numbers I had a 2021 350 srw I was getting about 11- towing just got my order 2024 350 drw with ho so waiting to see my mileage towing

The savings in fuel is magnified even more when not towing. 19-21 and sometimes 22 mpg with the new Powerstroke here in Florida (of course it’s flat here). I HOPE you are running a diesel fuel additive with EVERY FILL UP AS WELL, I use Hot Shot Every day diesel treatment at the performance dose. It will increase your cetane 4 points or more giving you a cleaner more complete diesel burn that drastically reduces regens and its lubes your fuel so your cp4 won’t grenade. I also recommend a banks idash.

@@CTECH-REVIEW Seriously, get the Banks Idash, it’s only about 295.00 free shipping from Banks performance. It is incredible and will give you TONS of information, basically anything the computer has sensors for you can see like oil pressure, oil temp,……everything. It can also alert you when you are regenerating while driving ! But for some real fun get the idash and pedal monster combo, NO tuning and it ELIMINATES that turbo lag in the first gears. You thought that H.O. was a rocket before….let me introduce you to light speed ! All you do is plug it in, again it will not void the warranty. KZfaq it and I promise you will be buying it. But don’t forget the mount for it. Let me know how it goes. You will thank me later.

Thanks for the review. I have a 2021 F350 tremor with 6.7. The payload capacity is so low on tremor compared to non tremor due to softer springs. I want to know if due to the bags you have a higher 5th wheel hitch weight than the yellow payload sticker on the door allows? They say "its only for stability" but hey 18 wheelers use air so...curious

Very good video and many valid points made. I just ordered a '24 F350 (Platinum) w/ the 6.7HO I hope to have as good of success with my new rig as you do. I currently have a '19 F350 w/ the 6.7 & love the truck, just got finished towing my 5th wheel (16k loaded) from Texas to Alaska & back and the truck performed flawlessly. I'm curious what rear end do you have in your F350 to get the fuel mileage you are reporting, I have the 3.55 & the best I can get is 9mpg, my new one is ordered with the 3.31 which I'm guessing is what you have. I thought about getting the air bags, my RV dealer talked me into trying the Sumo Springs on the truck (& RV), so far they have worked great & I don't have to worry about them leaking. Thanks for watching, enjoy the new 2024 F350! I have the 3,55 gears in my tremor too...and I am on 35 inch tires. I have posted a few short videos and full videos showing fuel economy towing our travel trailer and our 5th wheel. I hope that helps! I like the air bags as I can adjust them so much plus I dont lose any compression travel with the air bags for hitting big bumps or expansion joints in the road.

Good comparison, Barry! The gas versus diesel wars on the truck forums gets old, because no one wants to admit that they made a mistake. Sell a 10 year old diesel truck, and it sells for 20K more than a gasser. It cost you more money to operate a gasser, if you use it for actual truck stuff, and here in the west, with high altitude robbing power, a turbo diesel makes almost 3 times the torque. Anxiously awaiting the airbag availability.

Never in a million years is the exact same truck except for motor worth $20k more in 10 years. 😂 a 10 year old diesel has so many emissions issues, a lot of people won’t buy them for anything. You forget to mention gas is cheaper than diesel, no def, no regens, no fuel filters, no emissions issues. If towing under 16k a modern gas does great

It would be interesting to compare a 2006 Silverado HD Duramax vs a 6.0 with similar miles/condition to see what they bring in todays market.

@@CTECH-REVIEW would have to compare 2013s for a 10 year old truck. 2006s are much more price dependent on condition etc at that age and also pre emissions which were way better diesels especially used

Ok, for a concrete example of you misunderstanding what never in a million years means, I sold my 2012 F350 diesel 2 years ago with 77K miles. Looked and ran like new. It sold for $39K. All of the gassers that were for sale within 500 miles with under 100K miles were asking $14K to $16K. That's more than my statement of $20K. Believe what you want, the value of a used truck is in the drivetrain.@@Billybob50119

I lost a 2013 F350 lariat cc sb 6.7 with 33k miles on the odo in a garage fire 3 months ago and the insurance co. Paid me $50k for it. Granted it had very low miles as it was basically a toy, but I’m pretty sure if it was a gasser it wouldn’t have been close to that figure. I just picked up my 23 Lariat ultimate in the same configuration .

Interesting analysis and comments. I am going to order a 2024 F350 within the next 2-3 months. I am retired and only drive 6,000 miles per year, tow 1,500 - 2,000 miles per year (2012 F150 cc eco & 8,200 lb tt) and daily driving is < 10 miles per day; far less than your numbers. Current plan is to upgrade to a 13,000 - 15,000 GVW fifth wheel after the F350 is delivered. I agree the 6.7l provides the best towing experience, however how can I offset the dpf/regin issues caused by my daily driving < 10 miles per day? As of today I am leaning toward the 7.3l and feel I have no other option. Any recommendations/comments is welcome.

for a 8200lb TT and the distances your towing/driving I think a 7.3 is more then capable! You cant lose either way...both great engine options. Thanks for watching!

Not sure where you got 5 mpg for the 7.3 towing, I get 14 not towing and 9-10 towing maybe higher on the flat. I have the 3.73 maybe his rear end is higher?

I don't know how the other guy was getting 5mpg with the 7.3 Godzilla, I daily drive a 15k trailer thats 12.5feet tall and got 6.2-7.1mpg driving with it. I put 10,400 miles on that 2022. To be fair I top at 70mph, not 75 and we are mostly flat. I borrowed a 2023 with the 6.7 powerstroke for a week and filled up twice, I was doing between 8.2 and 9.7mpg It's better but nothing remotely close to double the mileage. i also ran the same trailer with a 2001 7.3 powerstroke for 6000 miles and I never did better than 8.5mpg on a fill up, I averaged low 8's

What does your 5th wheel weigh? I have a Reflection 150 268BH and it weighs around 8,200 dry. I tow it with a 22 F250 with the 7.3 and usually get 8-9mpgs. I have never seen 4.5-5mpgs, that guy must have been towing into a serious headwind!

Thanks for watching! Mine is 11k lbs dry. I figured around 13k loaded with our generator up front. His was similar to mine. It may have been 1000lbs more.

Modern gas HDs get about 8-9 mpg towing around 12k fifth wheel depending on wind. I had a 21 diesel pulling same fifth wheel and it was around 10-11 mpg. The difference in fuel cost and def etc came out to be almost exactly the same. Never seen 4 mpg with a gasser even into a 60 mph crosswind… your comparisons are not very accurate and are only to push your narrative since you have a diesel

I will add to that. I've owned diesels for over 20 years and did hard towing. Best I could get with 10k-15k was 8-10mpg. It's very similar to the 7 3 gasser. I will agree, that if your doing heavy towing daily, you can't beat tge comfort and stability of the diesel. My exhaust break on my 6.7 will stop a 25k load without needing the brakes.

I have waited a couple months for them to be released for the 2023 F350. I pull a 16,000 lbs fifth wheel. It sags terribly.

They have released bags for the 23. They call it a soft release. It doesn’t show up on their website yet. They even have a part number. Just a waiting game now.
