Her name is Amy Lee, Best female vocalist in my opinion. The song is not actually about a breakup, its about the death of a loved one. The music video is an artwork... Notice in the video how her feet never touch the ground and she’s in all white with bandages all over her. She’s representing that she’s a spirit and the one who has died. The guy is left behind with all their memories and dressed looking like he just got back from a funeral.

Yeah, I was about to say something along the lines of what she said, except how she passed her sister drowned in the bathtub and that’s what this song was kind of based on and that’s the same way Dolores passed away. She took some sort of sleeping pills and alcohol or something like that and ended up drowning in a bathtub Dolores that is not Amy’s sister.

Not to be a Debbie Downer on your video but; Many years ago, my fiancé was suddenly stricken with leukemia. I stayed with her through it all. I was constantly in the hospital, refusing to leave her side. All the treatments, the endless nights trying to comfort her pain. Holding her hand through it all while wiping both of our tears away with the other. Sadly, she had to be put into an induced coma because she began to have seizures. Her final words, (which I didn't realize at the time) were "Wait for me, I'll be back." A few days later, she passed away. 💔 On that day, as I left the hospital, this was the very first song that came on the radio. I never heard it before, and I felt like she was sending me a message in the lyrics. I had to pull over and I lost it. To this day, every time I hear this, she comes back to me! Thank you for reacting this and bringing her love back into my day! God bless! 😇❤️

She suffers from such depression ! That's why she wrote the song Lithium because she is on Lithium ! At least they're back out touring , Because they took a very long Hyattis due to her depression ! She was in a serious relationship with the lead guitarist in her band , the blonde guy in the video , they broke up many years ago , And I believe she took that very hard , I believe a lot of her pain comes out in her music ! Which is true for a lot of artists including Adele !

My little sister and I made a pact when this song came out to sing it at the funeral of the one that passes first. I don’t know how to explain it but we kind of have a laugh practicing it together and we know for a fact that neither of us can sing well and whomever sings it will be fighting off laughter at how bad we sound. Not to demean how beautiful this song is but I think what we are doing is making memories to battle the intense grief the remaining sister will be fighting. This song will be the love song between us.

The symbolism in this video is so telling…I heard this from another reaction which I never thought of until watching it so many times…in the video, (cause the writing process she & he did when they were young teenagers may have different meaning to them), but in the video, she is always in white (symbolizing an angel), and he is dressed in black (symbolizing a death). Another form of symbolism is the fact she never touches the ground, she is always perched up high on a tree, fountain, or a rooftop which symbolizes she is a spirit/angel. It feels like she cannot move on to the afterlife because she’s still earthbound by their love…it’s all heartbreaking…this song kills me every time I hear it.

I don't know whether you will see this comment since this video is two months old. But I just want to comment on this video. For years I thought that she was singing about a loved one that had died if you listen to the words that's the way it comes across. In all actuality she is the one that's dead. The white Gauzy dress, the bandages around her wrists, the fact that she never touches the ground throughout the whole video. I literally was floored after about fifteen years of listening to this song and seeing this video that I never picked up on that.

In the video, Amy never touches the ground as if to portray she feels as if she was the one that had passed, yet remains for a while and misses those she knew and loved. Her attire seems to match this sentiment as well. I understand she had recently lost her sister.

Great Reaction! I was introduced to Evanescence in the early 2000's when my kids were in high school (but still needed Mom to chauffeur them around!). My take on this song/video is that she is the one who ended the relationship by suicide (ie the strips of cloth on her wrists) but she is vocalizing what her ex is feeling. If you look closely there is a scene in the video where he has walked to the place where she is walking around the fountain, and they are both looking up but apparently can't see each other. The edge of the sleeve of his black jacket is just barely visible on the far side of the screen opposite where she is at the fountain. No matter how many times I hear this song the raw feeling of loss and pain always washes over me. I have enjoyed watching your reaction videos and I look forward to seeing more of them.

This song for me sounds like when you in a relationship you're still in it and invested but the other person isn't and has mental mentally checked out of the relationship but won't end it with you (( You used to captivate me by your resonating light Now, I'm bound by the life you left behind Your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams Your voice it chased away all the sanity in me These wounds won't seem to heal, this pain is just too real There's just too much that time cannot erase When you cried, I'd wipe away all of your tears When you'd scream, I'd fight away all of your fears And I held your hand through all of these years And you still have all of me I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone But though you're still with me, I've been alone, I'm alone it's like the girl knows it's over her partner's checked out but she can't get out and move on and just end it because of the love , memories and the feelings she still has for him

You need to have a Haley-Gasm like all the other reactors. React to the great Haley Reinhart with postmodern jukebox covering"Creep". 115 million views, 58 week's top of billboard jazz chart and considered one of the top 10 singing performances of all time. Haley is not just any singer, she is a master vocal technician who blow your mind using every vocal expression effortlessly and tastefully. Haley is considered the best all around female vocalist today (not singer, anyone can say) but no one could do with a leader with her vocals😢

I love this song, I can see it as her singing and narrating what this guy is going through after losing someone or they both lost someone and there is a connection between them. I also had an interpretation that he lost her, like she is dead and her voice is the soundtrack oh his memories and thoughts. She is walking on a waterfall thing, she is laying on a plank, laying on a roof, in a tree, on a car, she doesn't touch the ground and has wraps around her wrists so maybe she committed suicide and is an angel or a spirit lingering around and his thoughts of her won't leave him alone and he walks around distraught and depressed and feels her everywhere but she is not there and she is around from beyond the grave and is watching him but he can't see her. So many thoughts, I don't know, music is the theatre of the mind, it can be whatever you experience it as.

All rock bands have 1 or 2 heart-felt ballads. "My Immortal" was/is a great one for Evanescence. I also like the song, " Love you to Death" by Kamelot. would like to see you to do a video reaction to it.

Heads up: she is dead. Her feet never touch the ground. And the bandages on her ankles and wrists. She is expressing the grief of her husband as she can no longer express any emotions on her own.

I grew up with this song I still love it to this day never get tired of it, always get emotional every time I hear it. Also this song came out in '90s (1999) not 2000s however you were right when you said they were popular in the 2000s.

"My Immortal" is a song by American rock band Evanescence from their debut studio album, Fallen (2003). It was released by Wind-up Records on December 8, 2003 as the album's third single, following its inclusion on the soundtrack to the film Daredevil.

First time ever seeing her,i remember thinking "is she the daughter of Bruce Lee?" I was younger, easily fooling myself into believing stuff haha. But her dad is a gentleman named John Lee. Funfact: Amy Lee and Lindsey Stirling has been songwriting partners for years. Also at 13 years old,Amy met 14 year old guitarist Ben Moody in 1994 at a summer camp, where she played piano and he acoustic guitar. Thoose 2 has also been songwriting partners for years,he even co-founded Evanescence with Amy in 1995. (He departed from the band in 2003,but to my knowledge thoose 2 are still on speaking terms, continuing theyr friendship) Speaking of songwriting partners, this happened more recently: Lindsey Stirling - Love Goes On and On ft. Amy Lee of Evanescence (Official Music Video) Its a STUNNING collab! My favourite Evanescence song you ask? Evanescence - Going Under. And a song of theyrs i feel like is under appreciated compared to theyr "biggest hits" : Evanescence - Call Me When You're Sober

I’m a new subscriber, just saw them in September at a festival. I want to make a suggestion for Shinedown they put out a concept album 💿 Planet 🌎 Zero about the pandemic 😷 and are mental health. The album went to no 1 on the rock charts, and they have the record for the most no 1s singles in rock. “DEAD ☠️ DON’T DIE” gives a matrix feel. Then a slower one it has been named the best rock song about being human. A SYMPTOM OF BEING HUMAN. You won’t be disappointed Brent Smith is one of the top rock singers of the last 20 years. Thanks💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
