I own a couple of restaurants and it’s a brutal business, even when going great. Not sure it’s wise to focus on it if you can’t put your life into it. I’ll say that with 15 years experience. Still would be cool to see that happen.

I know I'm from Mass, but I want him to try Cartellis in Dover. That's one of my favorites. Although it's not ultra thin and crisp like Pepes or Sally's, it's good woodifred pie and has great flavor. La Festa is pretty good, too. What other places do you recommend? I often go hiking up in the Whites during the summer and love a good pizza after a big hike lol. I know Tilton house is definitely on the list with the crazy ratings.

My favorite pizza place growing up. When we got news the place was closing down, everyone I knew was shocked and so sad. They literally have been swamped the last month. Thank you to the Denneno family for all the great food over the years!

⁠@@AlcaoWhen Mrs. Denneno passed away in 2017, she wanted the place to close so her family could relax and settle down. However, they wanted to continue to provide to the town since it was such a hit spot. Now, recently they feel like the time is right to actually retire and close up shop. It’s a damn shame because it’s just such a great local staple.

Yeah I was in an upstate NY city of I dunno, 180,000 people and moved to a town (same way upstate NY) of like 3,000 people and it's the happiest I've ever been. Small town communities can really change your perspective on shit, for good and bad, but for all it teaches you how to be a REAL neighbor and a real human being with a sense of "we got you"

@@Allison11111 I haven't lived in one in almost a decade but before I moved a lot of older homes were being replaced with hideous and pricy mcmansions that felt like an erosion of the neighborhoods. I now live in a different New England town that is much smaller and more rural, and they have a lot of protections (too many imo) to keep the small town feel.

It’s heartbreaking that Denneno’s pizza is closing. The best thing about this pizza is that it’s very tasty, you can tell that they use the best ingredients in every bite. I wish they would change their mind and not close. Anyway, thanks to Dave for doing this review. And thank you Denneno’s pizza for feeding the community for all these years. You will be missed!

I lived in Stoughton for 12 years and Denneno's was a staple for my family. We'd go there and Town Spa at least once a week after sports practices

Grew up in Canton, graduated HS in 69 and ate Dennenos pizza at least weekly from 67 to 85. To this day, it's the standard against which I measure all pizza.

I'm so glad you made it there. I've posted on your KZfaq shorts a few times about it closing up and that you had to try it. I grew up eating there. I used to walk there as a kid with my grandmother before she passed. Denneno's is a very special place for me. One of my favorite pizzas ever and such fond memories.

I just read the article about the shop, and honestly, what a way to go out. Didn't want to pass it off, or sell the business to avoid someone possibly tarnishing the family's legacy there. So they're selling the land in full to make sure that can't happen. Gives me Genuine Tight Knit Family vibes, and I love it. Seems like a lot of people there are super friendly, and with how busy it is, it'll be missed by so many more people in town. Congrats to the family on a clearly successful venture, enjoy the retirement and well deserved rest!
