One bite, everybody knows Dave was about to give that plain Salad a 9.2

This is a straight up Pizza Hut salad from 1984. Appreciate the enthusiasm.

I could watch 20 more minutes of Dave doing a review like this, in a place like Zaffiros. I love seeing Dave really into a place all filled with nostalgia. You never know what's going to happen or who he'll talk to and that's the fun of it.

You make me miss Italian restaurants up North. The ice cold salad in individual bowls kept in the fridge with saran wrap, the over sauced lasagna that forces you to eat the bread and dip in the leftover sauce, and the staff that are either are related to the owner or started there as a kid.

Place is an absolute gem. One of the foundations of Milwaukee. Classy and trashy all in one. You literally walk into a Billy Joel song.

Such a shame that MARIA'S PIZZA in GREENFIELD closed last year - There were people lined up for BLOCKS on their last day and Dave DEFINITELY would've loved that restaurant and its history. 💯🍕

Been waiting my whole life for this review. Glad the experience did not disappoint. I swear if Prez had come a few years ago, it would have been higher. Zaffiro’s has dropped off in recent years. Pizza used to be best in the city.

Thanks for doing this Dave, I knew you'd like it. Now you walk over to the Nomad for a beer and even better time with the locals. Zaffiro's is king. Demarinis is pretty good too but one of them or both might have closed. Zaffiro's is our pride and joy!

For a paper thin / bar pie, that should have gotten 7.8, but I get its not Dave's top tier choice style of pizza. Love the review and respect he gives these joints as always..

That pizza looked bomb!

We went to Zaffiro's a couple years ago and met the owners. The kindest people you could ever meet. The pizza is a solid 8.3, sorry Dave!

You need to go to Vinchis pizza on the southside of Milwaukee they open at 4pm but closed Monday Tuesday. By far the best in Milwaukee.

finely some corrected him on his total lack of knowledge on pizza once he leaves the east cost. he has been calling thin crust that is piece cut Chicago style in like 30 reviews when they cut it like that all over the country. Maybe the pizza expert should try watching a few dozen youtube videos of different pizza styles.

Thank you for visiting Milwaukee Dave. Curious what brought you there. There's so much more than Italian food and pizza. I worked in a restaurant north of Milwaukee in the 90's and we just called those lasagna dishes "boats".

One thing I’ve noticed about Dave’s pizza reviews is that he never reveals he’s hungry.

That salad was straight out a bag from your grocers freezer. Added a full tomato slice to throw people off. That place is a dump. Pizza looks like a 2.5

It’s tavern style, cracker crust. Zaffiro’s is awesome. It’s impossible to find that type of crust on the West Coast.

Balistreri's in Wauwatosa is where Dave should of gone. Brick 3, Ian’s and classic slice are shit. Poor representation of Milwaukee pizza. Should of tried balistreris instead.

7.2 not bad considering we know how you feel about thin Chicago tavern style. I'm from Chicago, and I don't always agree with your East Coast based scoring. They cut the pizza wrong on the East Coast. That pizza looks pretty damn good. It needs some sausage. I'm inclined to agree with the waitress to a degree. That crust is really thin. Thinner than Chicago tavern style. It's actually more like Tombstone which was originally from Medford Wisconsin. Tombstone had a deal with taverns in Chicago. They not only sold them the pizzas, they sold them the ovens to cook them in. I've had a lot of Tombstone pizzas in Chicago taverns. In the end, it's bar pie. That's a big ass plate of lasagna. That's the way it should be served. So many chain restaurants give you a tiny piece. I want enough for the next day or two. Leftover lasagna is awesome.

When he says tavern style to me it's like he's saying don't expect too much from that. Lol
