The 2 or 3 clips ive seen. Of Bart playing cash. Are VERY impressive. Imo, he aint scared money. Hes not OVERLY aggro imo. Yet, aggressive. Pre an post. Believe u me.. i been takin notes

Bart understands value betting and bet sizing better than anyone else out there. The nitty check back with the top two pair actually goes to show you that he takes the time to evaluate what his opponent can have and if he can possibly call a bet with a worse hand. In that spot he decided that betting wouldn't accomplish much because he doesn't get called by worse enough and it opens him up to the possibility of being bluffed (in this situation if his opponent were actually a good player he could easily turn the ace of clubs into a bluff knowing he's only getting called by a few hands and folding out pretty much everything else.

Ive been in spots where I have a relatively strong hand but just check back the river knowing my opponent is actually more likely to blow me off my hand than call me with little to no showdown.

In the first hand Bart bet 800 into 1600 on the river against Jack. from watching this footage was pretty clear that Jack didn't really even think about it before getting his calling chips. Does this mean he should have bet more? Couldn't you have bet like 1300 and still exploited his tendency to call too much?? What about even a slight overbet? My question is what amount would have actually made him pause and actually think about folding.

Given the suits in Jack's hand, he blocks 100% of the 89s hands. Therefore, this is one of the best bluffcatchers in his range. The fact that he called so quickly is not indicative of a "calling-station" IMO.

@@TheTree1 On double-paired boards it is generally best to use small sizing with your whole betting range. This runout is somehow special since one pair is fairly small, the other one is runner-runner and the flop was very dry. Still, I don't think a bigger sizing makes sense as a bluff and therefore I wouldn't use it.

@@MrGrog90 1) the board is not double paired 2) you are attributing way more to Jack's thought process than the observable behaviors indicate. He didn't think about it at all. If the bat was 25 more dollars he probably still would have not. thought about it at all. you can see that there is a point at which there will be a threshold in his mind, where he will actually consider folding but then still make the call. And I believe Bart s bet was nowhere near that threshold.

I just think that when he starts trying to call out people's hands in the middle of the hand like when he said OH BART HAS ACES AGAIN it's annoying, but I would definitely always tolerate that kind of behavior from a player who wasn't winning in the game. But if he is winning in the game I find it pretty annoying that he does that stuff. on the other hand Bart probably knows from his comments that he can now over bluff this guy

It's more how he acts when he wins; acts like he's the greatest player on the planet. There's a lot of skill involved in poker but there's also a decent amount of luck. @@guybrushthreepwood8174

These commentators are so clueless lol. “If Bart gets a good read here” lmao every one that commentates thinks poker is about reading your opponents and the way they “look” or what they “do” in a hand it’s hilarious. Just nothing but ego players and tbh the only hand where I saw the title make any sense to the video was the hand where you bet qk on the river and that spot was a pretty straight forward bet w the action in this loose soft field wasn’t all that thin basically the same as betting an ace on the river

did you know there are whole books devoted to reading people, some even written by ex-CIA agents and the like? i have no doubt that the very top players have these kind of skills. i mean even at very low stakes games, you see situations where some kind of tourist gets a big hand and every single player just immediately folds, it can be very obvious~

I use live reads a lot to help my decision making in tough spots. If you are aware enough and watch your opponents all night, you'll be surprised at the little nuances they give away. I don't rely on it 100% for my decision making, but it's a good tool to have in your arsenal.
