I think best way to go is make it using existing cover but "air lock" it so there are multiple layers they have to get past before they reach your base. Also double stack your walls so people can't boost over them. I prefer to hide barrels or tents in the forest though haha.

Spent 10 hours getting loot and a vehicle, my vehicle flipped and someone shot me. Was the first person i saw in those 10 hours.

@@MichaelScheuenpflug but that would be boring as there would be no point on reinforcing it, I think the best option would be making it in a forest and hide crates around in the bushes, as they can find the base but won't be able to get all the loot.

@@trvshboi yeah I usually build in a shed or something in elektro just bc I always find what I need in elektro but I'ma try building more up north somewhere

I ran into way too many toxic people. Had a falling out with some guys I ran with, and instead of quitting the game because of toxic cry babys over PvP, a core mechanic of the game, I decided to go private and solo. Best damn decision I have ever made in that game. All the loot and base building freedom in the game, minus a majority of the stress.

@James Hewitt it is hard to find stuff in dayz. That’s the one down side to the game. You have to run forever to find supplies.

I'm actually really into this- What sort of guide are you thinking? All the basic survival items? Fireplaces, torches, ropes, leather gear, etc. are what comes to mind.

Kane sorry it took me so long to reply back. I think an in depth guide on base building in vanilla and the most popular mods would be great. Just the recipes and all tools needed for the building/destroying

It's safer to have as few destructible walls as possible. It also saves soooo much time.
