Nice to see the kids involved. It does two things… they learn to appreciate the work that goes into the world that they live in. And, they have memories of helping dad with something significant in their lives. Who knows, they may even become tradespeople as a result.

@@JV-pu8kx My real question was of course, why MDF instead of, say, poplar? Medite at $2 - $3/BF isn't a lot less than rough poplar, and nothing says MDF like the finish of a machined MDF edge, and it will dent more readily then even something as soft as poplar. There is some time value in less milling effort, I guess, and no propensity for movement.

I mean this in the nicest, best way possible...You are insane. You're putting $5m worth of work into an addition on a house that's likely worth $1m. You better keep this place in the family cause if not, some somewhere down the road a contractor is going to be brought in to remodel things and be like "Who TF built this place?!?!?!" and/or "Trim Screws! Trim Screws EVERYWHERE!!!" Keep it up! If I can commit to even half your building integrity, my clients will be forever happy with my work!

Your daughter finally asked the question that I've wanted to hear; that should be posed to all hosts on KZfaq channels, who work alone. "Who are you talking to?" It is hilarious, and something I would find difficult to do as a host, and that is to think aloud in a pedagogical way, without a visible audience. So, kudos to your child, and keep on finishing up projects, and we'll enjoy whatever you do, mistakes and all.

Looking great! Living in a construction zone is a challenge, but brings satisfaction when completed. The most I did for our house was 640ish sq ft of 18” porcelain tile. Since the underlayment was a particle board that needed to be replaced with plywood so mortarboard could be put down first. All the kitchen cabinets came out and sat in the living room while I did the kitchen floor. Since I worked a regular job the work hours for the home remodel made the job longer than we would have liked…oh well we love the finished floor! Oh I did notice the bucket is gone!

Their R&D team needs to watch this video. It is too bad the collar on the router bit let go at such an unfortunate time. I am a bit suprised you didn't work a bowtie or marquee inlay into the solution! Joy to the world.
